Really annoying christian habbit

im talking about the random capatalization.
like i can understand why you would write god with a big 'g', but whats up with writing he or him or the holy one or lord or whatever?.

ARM will continue to offer improvements in the mobile/portable market.
But it isn't going to do jack to the desktop market - and will likely only nudge laptops. Mac's just moved to Intel, doesn't seem likely they'll be lining up to re-compile and deploy on yet another chipset.
Businesses are not going to be lining up to break all compatibility and move to a whole new architecture. If I can't run my business apps on my laptop, it's just a fancy media player/toy.

For all the press google and apple gets - all you have with google is web search and ad engine, and from apple some flashy consumer electronics. They are not changing the world nearly as much as the press makes it seem.
Microsoft literally powers America's big business. You can't run your server farm on dopey little iPads, or really even macs (where is Apple's business grade cloud services and database servers?)
If Apple disappeared - we'd lose cover flow. We'd all be using Android phones instead of iphones. Final Cut Pro users would have to switch to Premiere. That's about it. If Google disappeared, we'd have to wait while another search engine caught up, but someone would fill the gap.
If Microsoft disappeared, our country's primary technology provider and maintainer would be lost - businesses worldwide would be devistated.

Slavery was, quite unfortunetly, an institution that the "civilized" world could NOT do without.
So if all the 'easy' energy such as oil runs out, and we fail to replace it with another source, so that civilization takes a few steps back - slavery and the sexual abuse of slaves would become ok again by your standards?
Let's be clear here - you are pro-slavery if the world situation deems it "too inconvienient" to treat your fellow human with respect.
This is one of my fundamental reasons for rejecting religion, I no longer wish to seek to justify immorality.

You are in slavery right now. That is how hate and any sin works.... it dominates and eventually transforms a person, transforming them into the thing that they hate.
Personally, I have never felt more free. I came to realize that the human condition is not a result of the eating of magical fruit - but a direct result of the computational nature of the human brain and limit input. No human brain, no matter how 'perfectly tuned' could ever 100% internalize the earth, all people, and the complexities of social interaction. As long as there is limited perspective/unknowns, human brains will make mistakes in their judgement. They will say the wrong thing at the wrong time. They will do the wrong thing. They will hurt eachothers' feelings, etc. Neural networks are great pattern-matchers - I said 'x' before and it made my friend happy, so I will say 'x' again... (yet unknown to us, that person's situation has changed, and 'x' is the worst thing you could say at that moment.) Really though, this is just christian sleight of hand. "Slavery is ok.. because we're all slaves anyway, see?". No. Slavery - owning of other human beings - is wrong. It always was wrong. "God" didn't condem it because "God" was made up by men who wanted to own slaves. That's all there is to it. - Lime

The only time I received a valentine card was in the third grade.
My parents made me give it back to the girl (not sure why it wasn't enough just to throw it away - oh yeah, JW's need to make sure everyone knows they are 'different', no matter who it hurts.)

I recently had to endure listening to the KM songs in a car ride with a witness (JW's take every opportunity to show that they have no personality.)
When listening to music, good music often inspires cool imagary in my head. It is a sort of game I play - figuring out what kind of movie scene a particular piece of music suits.
Listening to the KMs though.. all I could come up with was goofy cartoon walks and scenes from Marry Poppins. The only decent bits are the brief segways between each clumbsy march.

What is happening to JWN ?...So many topics not relating to Jehovah's Witnesses!
by koolaid-man innote the home page..wow how it has changed.. jehovah's witness discussion forumthe place to discuss anything relating to jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower bible and tract society... or just make new friends!.
many of the posts have nothing to do with with jehovah's witnesses and new ones coming on this board would be turned off by the content of many of these off color posts.
foul inappropriate language which is not proper or suitable for exiting witnesses to visibly inspect.

What I find from most of the posts on this thread is an attitude very much like The Watchtower Organization. Someone speaks up and says something critical, in a constructive way and immediately is chastised and disciplined. Does this forum allow for doubts or sincere earnest questioning?
Seriously... You can't tell the difference between a group of people who disagree with an opinion (this forum) - and a group of people who are coerced into agreement through social blackmail (the Watchtower)? You expressed "an unpopular opinion", and so yeah.. nobody really agrees with you.
Just what 'discipline' have you received? Is your family not speaking to you now because you critized this forum? Did we all turn our backs on you and refuse to speak to you now?
No.
Why do spend so much time opposing the Watchtower if you don't grasp the unethical and manipulative tactics that make the Watchtower particularily destructive to people's lives and mental health?
Many are acting like crazed elders suffering loss of emotional control.
Look in the mirror dude.

What video games were banned when you were a JW teen?
by BlackTwisted ini'm not a jw, but i'm kind of studying to be one though.. now that's out of the way, i remember mortal kombat was banned within my home-my mom isn't too fond of blood in video games..but yet, she plays dinosaur crisis sometimes....but then again, that was when i was 9...lol now that i'm 15 and i wanted mortal kombat 9 (still) my mom stil lsaid no...but then again, she would let me play it online..i dont know why..its strange, but hey, whatever works for her and me i guess.. .
um...lets see..any shooting games, or any games that has blood in it, she wont let me get.
so i can still play fighting games, just not the ones with blood...eh, oh well.i'm surprised she even let me play "dead or alive" and "soul calibur"!
