  jwfacts has an article that explains why the great crowd must be in heaven.

  i am also aware that many of these are the same arguments that stemmed from the 'awakenings at bethel' so my statements are not simply attacks of jwfact's character (since these arguments are probably not original) but rather his copy and paste of what others have said instead of verifying it as 'fact' for himself.. so here are jwfacts arguments:.

  1. he shows that russell and rutherford (at some point) believed that the great crowd were in heaven.. 2. each term that describes the great crowd of revelation 7 is else used to described the anointed by the wt.

  HintofLime merely tried to show us that Revelation must be incorrect since it describes the four corners of the earth as square, not realizing that these are symbolic and not to be taken literally but I figured that didn't merit a serious response.

  Funny how when the bible gets basic information right it is "inspired"... and when it gets it wrong, it is "being symbolic".

  I would think that if GOD needed to convey important information to humans - he would work carefully and masterfully to clearly convey the concepts that he wanted conveyed.

  For example, if I had something important to tell you - say I was walking down the street, and I noticed your house was on fire. Which is superior - for me to yell at your door:

  A) "Attention Recovery! Your house is on fire. I see smoke coming from the front of the house. You need to leave immediately."

  B) "And 7 trumpets sounded, and 7 stars fell upon the 7 seas, and the bowls of woe and of fire will be poured out upon the 4 corners of the trees of your vineyard, and scorpions will be set upon your bed, and the great prostitute of ruin will lay with the foundations of your roof"

  One form of communication is competent. One is incompetent.

  Visions and dreams are not a legitimate, effective form of communication. An intelligent God would by his nature be a master of clear, concise communication.

  The god of the Bible clearly was not.

  Revelation 7:1-3 "After this I saw four angels standing upon the four corners OF THE EARTH, holding tight the four winds OF THE EARTH, that no wind might blow UPON THE EARTH or UPON THE SEA or UPON ANY TREE 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the sunrising, having a seal of [the] living God; and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm THE EARTH and the sea, 3 saying: “Do not harm THE EARTH or THE SEA OR THE TREES, until after we have sealed the slaves of our God in their foreheads.”

  Now can anyone without bias/prejudice say that this a coherent and strong argument? I'll let you decide that. Now let's look at the 'common list of terms' that were presented.

  Nope. It's not a strong argument - It's not coherent idea. Corners of the earth? The earth is a sphe... oh nevermind. You know what? Yes - the earth somehow has 4 corners. The earth is a flat square or rectangle.

  "Great crowd"... "other sheep"... symbols... visions.. dreams... prophesies... etc.

  "God's" attempts at communication with humans match 1-to-1 with the symptoms of dilusions, pychosis, and drug abuse.

  Judging by the size of the jet... We are looking at what? A 200-500 million dollar aircraft? For Giliad? I don't think so. (Not to mention the airport behind it with runway too close and at the wrong angle for a genuine takeoff)

  It is just a silly illustration - WT Dreams of grandure if you will. In an ideal Watchtower world - nobody would have sufficient education to build a sophisticated flying machine... not even a single jet engine. I sincerely doubt most JWs know the basic process of creating an aluminum can.

  Good JW's keep looking "up" instead of "down" for answers - so they miss the obvious answers sitting right under their feet.

  From what I've heard of alien technologies from the first-hand accounts of people who have been abducted, one of their most sophisticated technologies is a highly functional anal probe - one capable of far more probing than any human attempt at such a device could achieve.

  Personally, I have absolutely no qualms whatsoever about the government keeping that technology to themselves.

  Seriously though, sounds like some pretty good suggestions here. I wouldn't recommend dating sites; I'd say start with a group that has interests you share and just try meeting people.

  I agree. I never met anybody interesting on dating sites, and quit using them. I find meetup.com a much better way to meet people - as you can make a lot of friends that already share some of your interests. (For example, I'm a member of a local film & photography group, where I've been the Director of Photography for a few indy shorts, and I'm in a few game and buisness development groups.) It is a little akward the first time you try a new group - but most people are happy to see their groups grow and are pretty inviting.

  Granted, it hasn't led to any dates for me - but I've made a lot of local friends. It is a way to get into some new social circles, with real face-to-face meetings.

  just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

  it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.
