  Wired! Lingerie shopping find single Sister from my Cong on wall poster WTF!

  this was afew years ago, i was shopping with my sister who needed some stuff so i went in too...looked at the picture on the wall of a 19 year old young pretty blonde in sexy lingerie...hmmm i said "looks alittle like sarah from my cong.....i had the "hots' for sarah anyhow.

  the more i look, the more i realized it is sarah....wtf!

  i asked the owner is that picture local....umm...is that sarah?

  My Assignment For Ray Franz

  today i met the widow of ed dunlap, who was of the watchtower writing committee and a great thinker.

  he found that the watchtower was not in harmony with the scriptures, so they disfellowshipped him.

  when ray franz was disfellowshipped, it was ed who took him in and gave ray a job and a place to stay.

  As for sending money, Ray had received a donation of $300 for Betty from her brother in Madeira. Ray was concerned about sending the money directly to the nursing home and didn't trust them. So, he wanted me to ask her in person how she wanted to receive the money, if there was something she needed for her apartment or anything. She said she would like some new clothes. So, if you plan on sending any money, she doesn't have a bank account - only a small purse. She never leaves the nursing home, so she couldn't shop by herself.

  I have a parent in a nursing home, they are only allowed to have so much money for their own personal use in the account they keep at the nursing home. I have no idea how it is elsewhere but would be a good idea to ask, It could cause Betty problems with the paying of her bills if they are paid by the government. And as far as her keeping it in her own purse, they steal money from the elderly people. My parent has had money stolen from their room on more than one occasion. I now just take them money if I know they is going to the meeting with any of the witnesses so they can go eat with them after the meeting or put money in the contribution box.

  sacolton, I think what you are doing for her is so great, if she has no family, she has no visitors and I know that is what they enjoy the most. The elderly person in the room with my parent loves when I come visit because I visit with them as well, most there are very lonely people. The fact that you are willing to take her out shopping shows what a wonderful heart you have and what God is doing through you. Bless you so much. Just please don't forget about her and stop going. I am sure Jehovah will bless you greatly for what you are doing, and all the others who have offered help.

  Bethel tells us not to build a new Hall since no more Bookstudy! Takes our $147,000!!!

  yes we saved and loaned and skrimped to build our own hall as we share with 6 other congs amd our area keeps growing bigger.

  we even picked out the land....nice, perfect for a hall.

  we had 147,000 so....then the advice comes from "above" that bethel advised us not to build since the bookstudy is cancelled our hall can take one more cong????

  The kindgom hall I attended sold the hall and was to start work on a new one within the year, this was right as Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. They were then told the hall would have to be put on hold, it is still not built or even being considered. Yet I see people telling how new ones are being build all the time, I wonder what gives?

  Boy did this bring back memories.

  My mother lived her life through me as a teenager, I never knew this till she got much older and her mind started to wonder a bit. Because of doing this, she tried to make me perfect, especially my weight. I can remember she would put me on every diet that came out, the grapefruit and egg diet, the 1000 calorie diet, pre surgery diet. IF I did not lose weight on these diets, I was backed into a corner and hit and hit until I swore I would lose the weight. I do believe this is why I am fat today, she has no control over my life and I will prove it by being fat. LOL

  Having just admitted to my closest family members that I have lots of doubts, I guess I am still around a 4. This has been brewing in me now for over 10 years and I am just now allowing it to be seen. I am not saying much due to a mother who is still a JW and ill.

  Does anyone here celebrate holidays? Why?

  i didn't originally celebrate anything, but when my oldest son started school i decided that it was unfair to put him through what i went through in school.

  i have to admit that i am loving the holidays, even though some of that old mindset tries to make me feel guilty.

  we focus on what the holidays mean to us as a family and enjoying time together.

  Stated by LouBelleI celebrate if I want too - I don't make a huge sing and dance about it.

  Once can't have double standards and allow some paganism in and shun others (eg JW belief of birthdays/christmas....they should look at what wedding rings and ties mean)

  How I figured JWs were NOT the truth...

  i remember thinking growing up that i wasn't sure it was the true religion but because my family were so sure of themselves and so many people believed it that i loved and respected it had to of been the truth.. then, i reasoned that because we were the only ones who fulfilled the preaching work that there was no other way any other religion could be the true religion except us.

  plus, we used jehovah's name and didn't take it out of the bible but the preaching work was really the main thing that kept me in.... i was always afraid to really study just the bible because i knew a ton of things might not be right.

  otherwise, why would so many jws be afraid to run into a greek scholar out in field service.

  I started questioning things when my mother had surgery and they hooked something up to her that saved her blood she lost and then put it back into her system, this was okayed by and Elder who said it was not taking a transfusion. If it was not a transfusion, what was it? After that incident, a few years later I came across an article about Raymond Franz, I never could understand how someone who was as faithful as he was could be disfellowshipped. I then with all the fear inside me, order COC. After reading this book and seeing what they did to him, I was just sickened, I knew it had to be true or they would have sued him for false information. I then started a search on other things and discovered so much wrong doing by the WTS, I never knew the GB considered themselves to be prophets of Jehovah himself. I never realized how much the JW's put their faith into the GB inside of the bible. I never knew how we were not allowed to be open and frank about our concerns about things we were suppose to believe. I have not completely left yet, but I do not see how I can stay with all that I have found.

  witnesses try to convince you that everything they teach is supported from the scriptures.. where in the bible does it say anything about "special pioneers" or "publishers"?.

  where in the bible does it say you can take some blood components but not others?.

  where in the bible does it say that 1914 was a marked year?.
