Well for the most part I think its a horrible idea to have government run healthcare for the general population. But is the system broke as is, yes. The only thing I would say would be contructive ways to deal with it is to lessen the role of insurance companies in the whole system and minimize malpractice litigation.
There was one doctor from back home that took to taking cash payments at substantially lower rates and to making his patients sign an understanding that he had nothing but the minimum liability insurance so in good faith he would do his absolute best to give quality medical care but if being a human he made a mistake, that suing him beyond the minimum amount of the coverage he had it would personally bankrupt him and that he would not authorize his insurance company to ever settled.
At the time for several years his business was booming and all the patients were raving. I wonder what its like now.

Sure let him return.
Is he a horrible person? Yeah
That is why I will never buy any of his or whatever team he lands with merchandise. And I would hope that others would do the same and thus the people would speak and he would have to do whatever line of work his college education prepared him for, hopefully that is something he can survive on.

I can see your example being the explanation for most of restrictions of female clothing coming from the WTS or the Elders. Jealous they cann't have it so they don't want to see it so they will shame the woman into covering it up. Its not about modesty so much as jealousy.
But at least you are showing signs you learned. Most of us guys do. We like it when they girls are all hot and sexy, and if we can get them, which unfortunately we often don't, then we get even more controling and try to force them not to wear that stuff becuase we don't want other guys thinking exactly what we were thinking before they were ours.
I say let women dress the way they want. If I like I will pursue them. If they I can win them over then I would want them to keep on being the way they were when I pursued them so and therefore will not try to change or control them.

Not to play to many word games or whatever but the fundamental problem with our healthcare system is not the healthcare itself but the manner in which it is paid for. Insurance companies are to me one of the necessary evils I wish we could find a way of living without, kind of like credit cards. They do have some benefits but it takes more self discipline than many people have to be as potentially positive as they are made out to be. Insurance is companies are in the business to do one thing, take in as much money in premiums as possible, and pay as little out in claims as possible. Now ideally its sold as a way to mitigate the financial hard ship of paying out huge amounts of cash for things that are supposed to rarely happen. But it has become a way for all healthcare cost to be managed and its being abused by just about all concerned. From the patient who refuses to shop for price competitiveness and either procrastinate making matters worse or go to the Doc for every little sniffle, to the Dr. in CYA mode that 1) orders alot of test that do not meet the return on effectiveness to cost test and 2) tries to make up for losses on people who don't pay on those that do, and then the insurance company that looks for any possible loophole to get out of honoring a policy claim or bullying the Doc into changing his Dx to something a little cheaper for the insurance company.
The Army system works but I don't know that alot of people would be pleased with the sacrifices. Rationed care, long waits unless it involved life, limb or eye sight and Docs more inclined to be a little more tougher on the patient, ie telling them straight out they need to tough out little illnesses or minor aches and pains. The other thing that makes the Army system work a little bit better is that the Army enforces weight and physical fitness standards, and is slowly starting to regulate smoking and dipping, as well as tackling alcohol useage. They can literally control everything you eat, the amount of physical activity you have to do and they regularly drug test every soldier. Yeah I get free health care but look at everything I give up. Now I do it becuase I voluntarily gave up certain rights when I signed my contract. And I won't even go into the problems with the VA, another wonderfully run government health care provider. But to make a government run health care system work, those are the kind of things that will have to be a part of the plan to really make it something that does not bankrupt us.

Obviously the Police Union representing Crowely is not satisfied. And I have yet to see any news article stating the officer himself is satisfied. And so far Obama has yet to say he actually apologized during whatever conversation he said he had with the officer only that he had one.
Why is it so hard for him to admit he was wrong with this one? And not with some double speak about a teachable moment garbage.

Why is it to much to ask that he publicly apologize to someone he publicly insulted? I find it amusing that for someone who goes around apologizing for all Americans ad infinitum and very publicly, now refuses to apologize for himself having wronged someone, or at least to make it public.
And while we are at in my case asking that he clearly and without mincing words admit he was wrong about the surge which is something I was a direct part of, and poured of alot of myself into making a success. I mean since we can only expect for him to admit fault and recieve recognition as such when we have directly been slighted.
But I will not hold my breath.

You know funny you make that observation Yknot becuase mine is the exact same. Almost all the high profile children in the Congregation, who were the most well looked upon and given alot of attention and "privileges" were the worst offenders of the double life syndrome. While the meeker, quieter ones who got looked over were usually the ones alot closer to actually living the life the WTS said we should all have strived for. They often would get away with things to when caught red handed with things like fornication with worldy girls, smoking, doing drugs, underage drinking, got away with it either by having it swept under the rug or merely getting away with a PR and most in the Cong would forgive all. But let a quiet low profile one do something even remotely the same, and if they didn't get DF'ed and manage to get the PR they usually got the treatment of a DF'ed person anyways so it didnt make any difference.

Oh no doubt Undercover. That whole issue was one of the tipping points for me. Becuase of how close the end was I made several life altering decisions based on the faulty time line, theorizing, and out right fabrication of the WTS and then to back track on it to basically making it an infinite deadline was alot to take. I just wish I would have known what I know now.
