You can't take crap from the elders, they only have power you give them, ask them just where in the scriptures it gives them the right to talk with disfellowshipped ones? -

Do you find it hard to be around active JW's now?
by EdenOne ini do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".
was it worth it?
because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?

In away, it was refreshing to find out that those supposed good friends disappeared when you held a different view point. It took my wife's death to really open my eyes to the fact that these so called friends were really conditional, finding that out as I had suspected prior too was the real eye opener. Glad I am gone from them, they deserve nothing, neither consideration as human, or those I would help in an emergency. I wouldn't help any of them, I have helped many families in foreign lands but never would I extend any relief or help to witness families. To me they can rely on the governors bodice for help as far as I am concerned. In fact, found an individual, 80+ miles from a convention center so when I stopped to render assistance and Learned that they were jdubs, I just told them to suck it up and left them. -

I only need to know that they are ?Islamist, knowing that is enough for me and wanting them dead. They are the Vermin of the world, with early Mosacian beliefs in who should and shouldn't be killed. -

Many times ?I voted no on resolutions then the elder would say it passed unamimously which was a lie, I would talk to them about it and of course they would try and turn it on me. Then I would get the song and dance and dance about the elders all agree etc., and that I was being a thorn in the congregations side. No I would say you lied not all agreed and saying so is a lie, then I would hear we didn't see your hand up, and I would tell them that is nonsense as I was setting 2nd row middle and many people saw my hand up. You just lied again and I will no longer talk with you, after awhile I only had one or two elders I would talk to. -

What woke you up?
by Israel Ricky Gonzales inin march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.
so what woke me up?
an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

Their constant we are always right and everyone else is wrong. Huh? Then reading BRITANNICA ENCYCLOPEDIA on the destruction of Jerusalem, no 607, then no 1914. No 1919. I mentally checked out then, just went through the motions for the wife's sake. Upon her death, the lack of love and care from our congregation was eye opening to my daughters. The supposed love didn't even exist, minimal showing of the congregation at the funeral and absolutely. I cards or phone calls expressing condolences. I just never showed up again, the elder body was so lax none ever came to see us. Love my rectum, no such thing in that congregation. -

The elders of the 1980s are now in their 60s and 70s
by truthseeker inhaving just come back from the uk and spoke with some witnesses to find out how my old congregation is doing, i realized i am now the age that my elders were when i was a kid.
and i wonder what the elders who are now in their 60s and 70s are thinking when they look in the mirror and an old face looks back at them.
many of the elders in my old hall are now retired.

AI had asked an elder when he and sidekick elder visited me, I had, had an operation and was at home recovering, he was insisting that the end was coming soon and in fact was right around the corner.so I asked how long is soon, and just where is the corner? That stumped the both of them , they both were hemming and hawing but didn't have an answer. They tried to change the subject so I repeated it several times, they were looking at their watches and finally decided to use the excuse of having to be somewhere. The wife and I left too, went to McDonald's and there they were having a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, they today still believe their own nonsense.

High control group dubs, wondering if he had influence from Islam another high control group? Tragic for the victims and their families. Also gun owners will again be ostracized. Blame the culprit not the tool. -

Discussing the RC with a friend and my JW wife was listening.
by Driving Force ini am fuming at the moment and my wife has made me so angry.. i live in germany and an ex jw, a friend of mine is also ex jw but does not understand english so i was giving him a rundown on the friday session of the rc with gj.
my wife was in another part of the house but heard my phone ring and so she came to listen, i did not realize this, because when the phone rang i closed two doors between myself and my wife.
she opened the first door and started listening to the conversation.

When did things turn from paganism to religious?
by ssn587 inheard someone mention that certain acts are pagan.
so thinking about it, i surmised that marriage, sex, eating certain things were okay and then after g-d gave the law to moses (supposedly) there was a separation for things, actions etc., that were pagan and otherwise bad.
just wondering what others may think about this.

I made no assumptions other than its anything religious in nature the was accepted as the norm prior to the Jews being given the "law." Got so tired of hearing oh you can't do that it's pagan because it's prior to Moses and the law, so I said well in that regard wedding rings are pagan, eating drinking etc. Was messing with a dub when this occupied. Thanks for you inputs. -
