The CONSCIOUS CLASS what does it mean to you, and do you consider yourself one of them?
by cattails inthere's a few posts where the term "conscious class" has been in just recently.. i'm wondering if it means the same to most jws and exjws who post here.. what does the "conscious class" mean to you?.
ok, no funny business about 'being conscious' as in awake and fully cafeinated.. if you could answer the two questions it may help some here to understand what.
this term is a lot better.

I've grown up with two very distinct groups of JW young people.
One group who was leading a sort of double life, fully into the things of the world,
and another group of do-gooders who wanted to please parents and KH folks and
who thrived on positive attention. Unfortunately I had too much negative attention
forced on me, because I did draw attention and liked the confrontation. I was always
the dramatic one, the one to blow it all out of proportion and to make a big fuss about
any real or perceived injustice or unequal application of the rules.
As I've grown up a lot more and don't desire so much attention, negative that is,
I've learned to understand the non-conformist youths a lot more and to also
see through the double-faced do-gooder masks other youths had.
They were all pretty much leading a double life, they had to, but some were
more obvious and some knew how to hide it better.
There are some who grow up to be uber-witnesses but these are the minority.
Quite a few of the young ones in my home congregation just gave up, disappeared
and today they're not even spoken of, their memory is forgotten, as if they died.
It is sad to think that so many still keep in touch through facebook that would
otherwise never have any other contact with each other because some fell away
or never got baptized and went on with their lives and some remained in the
"congregation." Facebook is quite an eye opener, and you get to see that
most young Witnesses are like any other young kids around, except more
sheltered and more desperate to find who they really are as people. This is
a different type of consciousness, isn't it?

WT December 15, 2010
by Designer Stubble inwt december 15, 2010. snippets from this watchtower are below.

my conclusions are:.

I personally like to go to the restroom to "stretch my legs" at least once during the Public Talk and again during the WT study. Why go during the song and have to wait in line?
Besides, I love to visit in the second school/Library with young moms who's poor little ones can't sit through the mind numbingness of the repetitive talks at the KH.
The Governing Body just doesn't know what they're missing. Haters!

Right on Yknot! Hah hah!
I agree with you wholeheartedly.
If left without Google I'd use Yahoo!
That would include their webmail features too.
I love Gmail and Yahoo!'s email too, but Hotmail/MSN/Livemail gives me the creeps.
Microsoft seems to be trying to imitate everyone else, and their hotmail is starting to act like Facebook.

The Rise of the Conscious Class
by truthseeker in"i believe in one god, and no more; and i hope for happiness beyond this life.
i believe the equality of man, and i believe that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavoring to make our fellow-creatures happy.
but, lest it should be supposed that i believe many other things in addition to these, i shall, in the progress of this work, declare the things i do not believe, and my reasons for not believing them.

Dear Joey Jo-Jo,
I have that Interlinear Bible, it's soooo cool!
But it should say "Interlinear" note the spelling,
it's by Jay P Green Sr., and you can get it at Amazon.com
I got mine for around $50, but a friend of mine got his for half that
$25 for a used one in fair condition.
One problem though, it is very heavy.
I love that it has the Hebrew intelinear text unlike the KIT
from the WTS.
http://www.amazon.ca/INTERLINEAR-BIBLE-HEBREW-GREEK-ENGLISH-ENTIRE-SET/dp/1565639774
But the reason for using the KIT is to send
a message that I'm in the "conscious class" so if there's
any other "conscious one" they'd notice the KIT Bible and
inquire.
It would be cool to use the KIT this way, and since it is a
publication of the WTS how can there be any objection to
bringing it to a meeting? Right?
If you have one of the purple edition ones that's even better.
The purple one's were the original edition. The blue cover was
a later edition with some changes.

The reason for not getting back to you with a decision is that the elders didn't expect such "brazen" conduct as to have the accused one record the judicial commitee hearing.
Now they'll have to check in with the CO and maybe with the Branch about this situation: What to do if someone is caught recording a "secret" meeting?
The elders will try to make sure they recall as best possible everything said before it comes out in public. The fear is that if there's something that can embarrass the WTS the CO/Branch will know about it asap and be able to call in the damage control crew, that is the legal department.

Hey Sweets,
Can you say: APPEAL!?!
Appeal and do it quickly, bring two mp3 players that can record for hours, a 2Gig mp3 is like $20 at Staples, put fresh batteries on each one, then put one in each pocket. Rememberto start them recording when you're at home, don't wait till you're at the KH, nevermind the rustling from being in your pocket, you can edit that out later, also talk through when you're driving there and what you're going to say, etc. It will be very therapeutic and you'll actually get a lot of empowerment from knowing everything is going on record, on your mp3 recorded, word-for-word record.
I would definitely avoid saying you have "doubts".
YOU DO NOT HAVE "DOUBTS"!
What you have is "confusion".
Tell the elders you're confused and need to have explanations. That you're willing to accept as beliefs of the JW religion anything that they explain, and you would appreciate any resources, scriptures, quotes, or anything else that may help get rid of any confusion you're experiencing.
Jehovah's Witnesses under the mind controlling techniques of the Watchtower can accept two different explanations, even if these contradict each other, if they see it printed in the WT magazine. For example in the September Kool-aid Edition it talks about JW's having no human leader but Jesus Christ, several paragraphs later they say that the Governing Body is the one appointed to lead Jehovah's Witnesses. How can both be true, either they have human leaders or they don't. But any mind controlled JW will nod and say they are both true.
So what you need is explanations, you've been through a lot, you're suffering from depressive thoughts and this is stressing you out, tell them you need serious help, both spiritually and psychologically and need it fast, and you want them to help you, they are shepherds of the congregation and you need their help.
If you put it like that to them how can they say NO, how can they turn you down? Didn't Jesus say to leave the 99 and go after the lost sheep? Well, you're lost in the confusing proclamations that the WT Society prints, and they've printed enough contradictions over the years to make any non mind controlled follower have quite a crisis of conscience.
Do not admit to any wrongdoing, if you are repentant for anything you've done take it before Jesus and before Jehovah in prayer, do not let the wolves and wild dogs tear you to shreds.
That said I hope the best for you and keep praying you have strength and the bravery needed to go through this wacky ordeal.

Can Spanish people recite the alphabet???
by asilentone ini met a fairly intelligent spanish woman today at starbucks.
she also looks good, i taught her to do abc's (fingerspelling-sign language) her first language is spanish, she knows some pretty good english, but needs some more improvement on her english skills.
she does not know abc's that good.

If you taught her the fingerspelling of the ABC's for sign language you mean she can't pronounce the letters in English? No duh? Do you know the Spanish fingerspelled alphabet, they do have one, it has more letters than the Ameslan or Signed English alphabet.
If I remember correctly when I studied it the Spanish ABC's (abecedario) has 30 letters.
Do you know how to pronounce them all?
Why is it we expect everyone to learn English if we're not willing to become polyglots ourselves as Americans living in a continent where Spanish and French are major languages too?
BTW most of the Western part of what we call now the United States was once Spanish and Native American speaking. English came later, it's been less than 200 years since a lot of the States in the Union joined the U.S.
Before that, Spanish was spoken among Native American tribes in the South West, due to the Spanish arriving in the early 1500, and running rampage through the continent with their toledo steel swords and armor, horses and gunpowder, and let's not forget the European diseases brought into the New World. But it seems most Americans either don't pay attention in World History class enough to learn about what happened before the English came over and established the 13 colonies in the East Coast.
Ok, rant over, but I think the level of literacy in most Spanish speaking countries is quite high; Spanish is quite phonetic unlike English, and places like Cuba have a higher percent of literacy than even the U.S., go figure.
