the book has shown to be a reworked fertility goddess poem in other threads.
the passage here seems to be betraying the superstition of night demons/monsters that roamed around slaying folks in their sleep.

Do you know of any "baptized" JW's that committed suicide or attempted?
by booker-t ini remember one of my childhood friends was found dead and the police said he committed suicide.
i just could not believe it because my friend was a "devout" jw almost franatical about it.
now years later since i have seen both sides of the coin i am beginning to wonder if my friend did indeed kill himself.

my niece has attempted suicide twice. once with pills and once by cutting into her wrists. the first time she was in "the truth" but just going through the motions. the second time was when she was disfellowshipped. now she is reinstated and on 7 different medications and says all is wonderful and nothing bothers her anymore. wheee....

What happens when you die??
by mysterio91 init's been over a year now since my dad died.
i feel sad about it a lot because i don't believe i will never see him again.
i realised today that being raised a dub has closed my eyes to different views on death.. what do some of you believe happens after death??

he was accepting $500 from a charity that provides money at this time of year, the heading was, "the season of goodwill".

my niece hangs christmas lights in her bedroom...i didn't ask, but she volunteered that since she doesn't buy them for a christmas tree she's not doing anything wrong - she just thinks they're pretty. her mom buys turkeys at thanksgiving and marshmallow peeps at easter and candy pumpkins at halloween. and that's ok 'cause they're "not celebrating what they represent". hmm, so if someone decides to hang a swastika in their house, or a pentagram on their front door because they appreciate the artistic/graphic design of them, they can just turn a blind eye to what those images represent?
riiiight. (said in dr. evil's voice) can you spell h-y-p-o-c-r-i-t-e ?

Oh, I got another one. Two years ago at the convention they told a long, drawn-out, dramatic story about a guy who was offered a job making $100,000 a yeay but he'd have to miss book study to take it. He decided to refuse the job so he could go to book study. Anyway, at the end of the story the speaker said "and guess where the job was? The world trade centre." (Audible gasps from the crowd.) What a load of crap. I KNOW it's not true, how horrible to use a tragedy like that just to make up a bullshit story to scare people into coming to meetings.
o...m....g.... i feel queasy. so did they name names, location, etc.??!!! these people are NUTS!!!

we are doing fine, just really busy living life.. well, last saturday i was out at the markets with a friend (thank goodness).
when i got home mr bliss informed me that a servant brought the co around to our place for a 'friendly' visit.

PS: I'm going to a Xmas work party this week. An active dub is going to be there, should be funny seeing as though she is the reason the party name has changed from Xmas party to...........'end of year' party. A few colleagues have asked me if it was because of me and I tell them, "you got to be joking, I'm not a JW anymore" So people know that she is going, knowing it is a Xmas party but just called something else to ease her conscience. I think she is going to feel a bit uneasy knowing I know!!!!!! Like I care. I plan to have a ball
