my son had those briefly when he was six. he had a really nasty teacher and when i found out she was terrorizing the kids (just the boys for some odd reason) i ripped into her good, then i told the principal, who reprimanded her. just to be safe i had my son switched to another class where she couldn't get her claws on him. once he was removed, the night terrors stopped. but they were awful - we couldn't wake him and he would just shiver and say "i want my mommy" and i'd hold him and say "mommy's here", my heart sick with fear and when i found out the cause of his terrors, ANGER. the only thing that would wake him up would be washing his face with a hot wet washcloth. then he would cry but not remember anything, and want someone in the room with him 'til he fell asleep. people who abuse children are the absolute worst . oh, her rationale? he had it "too soft" and abusing him would "toughen him up" and "help him get through life". what a pig.

hmm, now that i think of it, i don't really know. i just assumed it was. i mean, i never ran into anyone at work who tried to preach to me, ever, and i have worked with a few religious people, even one place where there was a witness lady, and she never once witnessed at work. when i worked at this telecommunications company, we had these muslims working there and at around 3 in the afternoon, you could walk past their cubicles and see them on the floor, on their knees and supposedly praying and pointing towards Mecca, or something. so the workplace couldn't forbid them from doing that...hmm, i'm sorry i wish i had an answer for you...

I am getting a sore throat
i knew there was something about dentist's offices -- every time i come back from the dentist i have a sore throat! must be something in the air...
wow that sucks that you have a jw working there. i mean, here you are, trying to fledge and there's one of them...bummer. they can't preach at the office, btw, so if she tries, tell her to go file x-rays or something. if she has a higher 'rank' than you, you can still tell her no, so don't let her intimidate you.
anyway, good luck! i know you're going to do great.

Who makes the WORST boss.....Male or Female??
by ScoobySnax in6 months ago i was promoted to ward manager in the hospital i work in, and despite all the stress that goes with working in healthcare (particularly the good ol nhs!
) i come home usually knackered but still pleased that this is the job/career path i have chosen.
managing nurses brings its own headaches, and without wanting to sound sexist, it is sometimes difficult to work alongside a whole group of women and try to keep a happy ship with all the personalities that come into play.

good boss (man): terry at k-mart (very organized and patient)
bad boss (man): steve at the bank (a mormon and a wimp)
good boss (man): patrick at telecommunications company (brilliant engineer and manager)
good boss (man): dave at same company (excellent supervisor, even though he made you work overtime a lot)
good boss (woman): nikki at engineering firm (she was awesome!) (wonderful teacher and mentor)
good boss (woman): diane at publishing company (fun and smart and fair)
bad boss (woman): bobbi at software house (she stabbed me in the back) (The Bad Seed)so, i guess men make the best bosses.

God drowns everything that breathes air. From newborn babies to koala bears -- all creatures great and small, the Lord God drowned them all. 7:21-23
"koala bears"?
newborn babies:
even as a witness i could never wrap my mind around "Jehovah" doing these things... i couldn't kill one innocent creature, let alone millions...
