when i had my appendix out, i took a little picture of my son with me into the operating room (it was in the pocket of my gown). when they were prepping me, i showed the picture to one of the nurses and she squeezed my hand and i felt better...(i still remember her face to this day... she kinda looked like perry mason's secretary), only older. anyway, it's normal to feel scared, but you'll do just fine. you'll be back on those little buttered feet in no time. in the meantime, i'll keep sending good thoughts in your direction

Oh well. When they tore that hall down to make room for a new 'assembly hall' - I was still married, and the wife and kiddo were into going to 'quick builds'. They did their best to get me involved... I told them "no thanks. Getting run off one project is enough for me."
good for you! forgive me, but if those elders really meant well, they would have said "thank you, young man, for all your hard work". as it was, they killed your desire to help out in future builds, and made you feel bad about it.

every single member of my family who is in either drinks and/or is on these drugs, alone or in combination: paxil, lithium, xanax, prozac, haldol, or valium. and they're supposed to be the happy ones, and we're supposed to be the miserable ones. hmm...

sheesh. i would have loved to have seen that 18-year-old young man say "fine, you do it then" and drive away.

*** w03 7/1 p. 3 Love Is Indispensable ***
Yet, modern society, especially its media and popular role models, often places more emphasis on wealth, power, fame, and sex than on the human need for warm, loving relationships. Many educators stress secular goals and careers, defining success primarily in those terms. True, education and the cultivation of one's talents are important, but should they be pursued so single-mindedly that one has no time for family and friends? An educated ancient writer who was an astute observer of human nature likened a gifted but loveless individual to "a sounding piece of brass or a clashing cymbal." (1 Corinthians 13:1) Such people may become wealthy, even famous, but never truly happy.what i want to know is, how can you judge entire civilizations when you live in a vacum? i mean, if they're supposed to shun things of this world and have no part of it, how can they even begin to analyze it? hmm, popular role models... you mean like michael jackson, prince, serena and venus williams...?

An almost uncontrollable anger
by chuckyy ini seem to have had a drastic personality change since i disassociated myself.
i have gone from a relatively calm human being to someone who is full of anger and sometimes what feels like an overwhelming rage because of shunning.
how do you deal with those emotions??

hi Chuckyy. i was always very mild-mannered, even when i got out. i basically plunged myself into the world without even thinking about it..as time passed, i beagn having severe panic attacks... after two weeks of these crippling episodes, i went to a psychiatrist...a real Sigmund Freud type, who took me in deep and showed me that in my case, the root of my anxiety was anger--- it was finally surfacing after years of pushing it all down, and i had to let it come out. and i felt it more than i ever did, and i started swearing, which i had never done, and allowed myself to feel the anger... then we began techniques to recognize what was really at the heart of all these inrtense feelings and deal with them accordingly. in my case, i just had to feel them all...the anger the hurt the loss, the humiliation at being lied to and betrayed by people i loved, locked away during my formative years, everything. it never really leaves you i mean i consider myself very happy, but then i'll read something here or see something in a movie that will upset me... the trick is acknowledging it for what it is and dealing with it directly, which is much healthier than denying them. i can't tell you what to do; i can only share my experience with you. and it will get better. honest.

JWs Put Student "Journalists" at Risk!
by Voyager inkids at scholl are given an assignment to write an article.
the articles that are the best, are published in a newspaper with the writers name attached.. it seems that jehovah's witnesses are (plucking) kids names from these articles, and contacting them to see if they are interested in becoming one of jehovah's witnesses.. of course these kids are (minors), and they are being contacted (without) parental consent.
this has caused concern between teachers, parents, and newspaper management.
