  we have just gotten home from sunday-meeting, when my mom ask me if i believe in god and so on.

  so i tell her, cause you adviced me to be honest.

  and despite all my fears, she took it very calm, and then told my dad whos also taking it calm, and it doesnt seem like theyre hating me now or want to throw me out of the house.. the thing is.

  there once was a young seeker named caine. he met a teacher called master po. on his path to enlightnment, he was given the new name "grasshopper". master po always presented a pebble to grasshopper to see if grasshopper could snatch it from his hand, to signify his wisdom...but grasshopper never could. this made him impatient, and he asked "when will i be ready to leave?" and master po always said "when you can snatch the pebble from my hand".

  sf, i believe i answered your "simple question" with a "simple answer":

  What if it were your teenager logging into, what is in fact, a mostly adult forum and discussing YOUR parenting of said teen with complete strangers? What if said teen was going around your town, talking to complete strangers regarding your family dynamics?

  the first thing i would do is ask myself what am i doing wrong that my son felt he couldn't come to me with his problems... but then again, i didn't raise my son in a milieu of oppression, fear and distrust. i can hardly call the advice and honest answers to Fillip's questions "predatory". so what should we as ex-witnesses, do, then, when someone, any one, comes seeking answers? tell them to go away because they are too young?

  so, you don't think we should be answering Filip's earnest questions because he's underage? (trying to understand your point)

  i use mirc to download music.

  i just changed computer and re installed mirc, and now it costs 20$ for a year.

  not expensive, but it was free before.. where do you go to download music on the net?

  Incense ... don't kid yourself. Some of the finest families have turned out the worst. No guarantees in this department ... all we can do is hope for the best.

  unlike you, i don't kid myself . i see the world with eyes wide open, and taught my son the skills to survive in it, as well as how to be a compassionate, thoughtful citizen of the world. p.s. you don't want to get personal....do you?

  except you, apparently... how was filip "mixed up in a porn site'? here's what he said in logan's thread:

  his eyes are being opened...why does that threaten you? when i was in, i never masturbated or even thought so much as one "impure" thought - and fool that i was, i thought every witness was like me.. Filip has access to the internet, which connects him with people who can relate their experiences truthfully, and to information that is not homogenized and then spoon-fed to him. on anotther note, what's wrong with healthy exploration anyway? if god didn't want us to enjoy our own bodies and share love with each other, why did he make it so pleasurable? calling something natural and beautiful dirty is what's unhealthy...

  Now that's a real future for a 15 year old! Are you all willing to house, feed and school him for the next 5 or 10 years?

  in 5 years he'll be 20; in 10 years 25...certainly old enough to take care of himself.
