The "hero" award should go to Little Toe for the classy, brass-balled way he disassociated himself during a talk.
really? i didn't know that. wow, that took courage!

this is the time of year for the "awards" shows.
we have witnessed seen the people's choice awards, the golden globe awards, and the academy award nominations were announced today.
i think it is time for the jwd awards.. every nominee is a winner.

just got off the phone with the judicial committee, the same one that i blew off last sunday.
i wasn't even sure they'd call, but come to think of it, i think that's just what they're supposed to do if i don't show up.
they called as a conference call (none of them has been willing to talk to me on the phone alone!
FFrog and I will pop down to the in-law's this weekend for a final visit before the ax falls. That should be fun.I didn't want it to go this way, I wanted to be left alone, keep access to my inlaw's. D@mn religion.
i'm sorry... those jerkfaces.
this is for those of you who sent me a private message saying you dont believe me, your letting your old jw traits come out, you know, not believing things when the facts stare you in the face unless it comes from the org.
maybee you should go back and re join them.. to confirm what happened .
i was at a john denver concert in the uk many years ago, he asked all catholics to stand up, after he got them seated he did the same with church of england, then the same with a couple of other religions, after he asked all jw's to stand up he announced that the concert would not go on untill they had all left and he then left the stage.
well...let's just say that there was a gigantic event hosted by the jehovahs witnesses, and you had to pay 20 bucks or so to get in...and it was clear to them that sitting in Row 12 Seats A-H were a whole bunch of apostates - do you think they would let them stay, or would they order them to leave?
and what were elders and other jws for that matter doing at such a worldy event to see a worldy performer? i wonder if they told any of the younger crowd hey we were at a john denver concert last weekend...
anyway, the grandmasters of shunning get shunned and they get themselves in a tizzy over it... pardon me if i'm not sympathetic.
You fill up my senses, like a night in the forest
Like the mountains in springtime,
Like a walk in the rain,
Like a storm on the desert,
Like a sleepy blue ocean,
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
Come, let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter,
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you,
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you,
Come love me again
You fill up my senses, like a night in the forest
Like the mountains in springtime,
Like a walk in the rain,
Like a storm on the desert,
Like a sleepy blue ocean,
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
"Rocky Mountain High" was one of the first songs my son learned to play on the guitar... he's a child of a new generation that appreciates musicians from days gone by, and so do i...
.
as you get older, do you find yourself gravitating towards softer music, or do you find you like the harder stuff as much as ever?.
.
all kinds... hard, soft, jazzy, blues, whatever, it doesn't matter....lately though i'm drawn to lyrical music by unusual bands... like this unbelievable band from Sweden...
posted this on another site:.
i would like to bounce this off all of you and would like some feedback.
i think i know what to do but just want to know if i am doing the right thing.
I have been single now for over ten years. My children are all grown and I have nothing to hold me back.
well, she does...she's newly single and she has a daughter with issues...
She has a 17 year old daughter that was abused by her step father, my lady friend's ex. It was the only father she knew for most of her life and because of this broken trust, she does not trust men. About a month ago my lady friend tells me that her daughters physiologist says it is not a good time for her (my lady friend) to get involved with one someone right now. The physiologist told her that it would take a couple of months for her daughter to get over this.
it seems to me, the psychologist and the mother, who are both close to the daughter and her situation, can best gague the daughter's readiness to accept a new man in her mother's life...
Her daughter is so protective of her mother, like screening her calls and not giving her mother the messages.
ok, the daughter has no business screening the mother's calls and not giving messages to her mother. the mother needs to put an immediate stop to this, or get herself a cell phone or password-protected message box.
I have told her that I would like to take it slow
you've only been in the picture for four months, and you told her you wanted to take is slow, so i don't understand why you are asking how long it will take the kid to get over what's troubling her........? if i were in this situation, i'd ask the man to be patient, and if he wanted me to hurry along my daughter's emotional healing, i'd tell him to take a hike.
Your new one is gorgeous, by the way!!
thanks. it's Fiona Apple, from a song called "Angel".
yeah, Stef, Elsewhere's av is the cutest one EVER.
of course, different people enjoy different types of humour, so there will be a wide variety of responses, but if you could mention why you find that person funny, personally, it would be appreciated.. i would have to say that i have to pick two people.
i enjoy having humour displayed in a tasteful manner, but with wit.
a life-lesson taught with a laugh is about as good as it gets, imo, even if i am not capable of accomplishing that very well myself.
i don't know about the funniest posters, but i do know that whenever i read kaykay_mp, i always LOL...and many times when i read Elsewhere i crack up...he has some one-liners that are really funny.
would you rather see bush fail or a stable society for the iraqi people?
do anyone hate bush or america so much that you would rather see military failure which will mean more death and carnage for the iraqi people and the us/allied military?
or would you like to see a bush/allied military success, giving the iraqi people a chance to govern themselves toward a stable democratic society?
o0o...say "partisanly jingoistic" again....
