ooh! they always do that! they say it's a "matter of conscience" and that it's an individual choice, but then they go to great lengths to explain and include examples of what "wise" witnesses would do, and then they say "be like so-and-so". no wonder they don't get no respect. how can you respect someone who doesn't have the cajones to tell t like it really is? what wimps...

Anyone Collect Homies??
by jaccilynn inmy friends and i started collecting these little figures from the quater machines in the grocery store called homies... just wondering if anyone else has these in their supermarkets/drug stores... they are so funny... little guys drinking 40's, holding skateboards.
they're great.

jaccilyn: my 15 y/o son collects homies. we get them when we go to pizza hut. he has a lot of them and is actually going to use them to make a dioramna for a future sociology project in school...
like you said:. i saw them as toys jesting about the hip-hop style that is so popular in our society today. i never looked at the toys and said, "oh look! they're latin american!" let alone latin american gangsters
i never saw them as "latin american stereotypes", and i'm half latino. i just saw them as cute and never found them offensive and still don't. my son certainly doesn't want to join a gang or think that being a gangsta is glamorous because he has these on display in his room... neither do his friends.
i have some of the ones you have, and a lot of "ho's", and a big dog and four little puppies. sometimes we take turns arranging them in different ways and stage little scenes and make up little stories about them, like this kid's in trouble because he forgot to feed the dogs, or line them all up as if they're waiting to get into the new austin powers movie, etc. Then the other person has to guess what's going on, it's pretty funny.
anyway have fun collecting homies - i do.

some say they are no longer religious.
others say they are not sure if god really exists.others are trying to come to terms with life outside of the watchtower.

translation: read only what we tell you to read, namely the watchtower, awake, and new world translation of the holy scriptures.
let us maintain a spiritually healthy view of the information received through personal study and congregation meetings.
translation: clutter your mind with newlightspeak and go to regular meetings to have your brain washed.
And instead of questioning God's Word, how much wiser it is to have the attitude of the first-century Beroeans who examined the Scriptures closely!
translation: do not, we repeat, do not think for yourself. be like those wise beroean dudes. if you don't, you will be thought of as "unwise" in the ways of jehovah.

i say this because its true, think about it takes years to get to know someone, maybe 10 years later you may say i really trust this person or persons,but all sudden those you thought you could trust do something to hurt you,betrayal,theft,backstabbing,assault,dishonesty,liar,deception,etc.even on here i dont really know any of you, all i do is just type and that suits me, you seem to be people of all walks of life some upset,confused,happy etc.but that doesnt mean what you say in your words reflects the "real you" .whether you belive in god or evolution etc it makes no difference we all have imperfect desires in us and give it the right moment and they may be unleashed,you may think im paranoid but "im not" i just dont have much trust for humans good or bad and i dont even trust myself sometimes.
