Oh, I think he can express anything he wants. But, when you bring an opinion into a public forum, people are going to react, and although there are definitely limits, I think anyone can call bullshit on something when they think it's bullshit.

I don't know Perry from a hole in the ground, and he's probably a nice enough fellow, but the stuff he puts faith doesn't convince me of anything much.

It's stuff I considered and discarded long ago as not only unsupportable by known facts, but pretty emotionally unsatifying too. The fundamentalist/Evangelical version of God leaves me quite unmoved, I'm afraid.

for the majority of my years in the truth, the "new light" did not bother me at all.. i reasoned this way: "the faithful slave is imperfect, right?

logically they're going to make mistakes.

the main thing is that they're trying to do god's will they best they can and stick as close to the bible as they understand it.

My husband and I took one of these "seven kinds of intelligences" tests and we found we have opposite kinds of intelligence.

It makes me wonder if we're attracted to (in various ways) people who are different than we are to either fill in the gaps for us, or to make us feel smarter because we're smarter than they are in some ways?

I think people of a thinky sort sometimes forget that experiencing and doing are also forms of learning...not all learning takes place by being thinky.

For example, you can read a lot of books about sex and analyze it, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't replace DOING it as a way to find out what it's really like. Not everything we do can be reduced to an objective analysis and that be it's best expression.

I'm just open to new possibilities. But, I know the limits of current knowledge and am a little reluctant to go beyond it without some serious proof.

I think most of the stuff we call "supernatural" will someday be explained one way or another, either debunked, or accepted as just "natural" rather than supernatural...merely things we can't understand yet.
