Interesting Watchtower quote on Jeremiah 29:10 - Seventy years FOR Babylon.

The 70 weeks prophecy end with the termination of sin and to bring in righteousness to time indefinite.

Daniel 9

24 “There are seventy weeks that have been determined upon your people and upon your holy city, in order to terminate the transgression, and to finish off sin, and to make atonement for error, and to bring in righteousness for times indefinite.

Jesus Christ himself told us when that would happen:

Matthew 13

The harvest is a conclusion of a system of things, and the reapers are angels. 40 Therefore, just as the weeds are collected and burned with fire, so it will be in the conclusion of the system of things. 41 The Son of man will send forth his angels, and they will collect out from his kingdom all things that cause stumbling and persons who are doing lawlessness, 42 and they will pitch them into the fiery furnace. The Watchtower are still waiting for the conclusion of the system of things.

The Watchtower Society also imply that Daniels people are Jews.

Yet the 70 week prophecy itself mentions the Messiah!

In other words Daniels people are Christians and the holy city is Christianity, not Jews!

There are also many arguments about when the word went forth to rebuild Jerusalem and the temple and start the 70 weeks.

So when did the word go forth?

Acts 15

Judaism...Islam...Christianity...and now the Watchtower religion

judaism, islam and christianity all have faced the same problems.. their total devotion to the supernatural eventually conflicts with everyday life and makes for failure, despondency and conflict.. each of the 3 religions has reacted to the modern world by the same process.

schism followed by anti-mainstream rhetoric.. for judaism, in the 1st century, jews either clung to the sacrificial system of priests or formed messianic apocalyptic cults or went off into the desert away from everybody and everything.. for muslims, when muhammed died without naming a successor, schisms led to internal wars and the rise of shiaa and sunni struggling for dominance.

when swallowed by the turkish empire, muslims tried combining politics with religion and failed.

Yes, I have a better idea. Provoke thinking! Until people are willing to actually look at their belief system skeptically and analytically they can't see it symptomatically as a disease rather than a cure.

Intelligent thinking?

Then what I see happening around the world must be a result or measurement of what the MOST intelligent people are thinking.

If it isn't, then the most intelligent people in the world are not intelligent enough to have an effect.

So, you must have a belief system entirely based on intelligent thinking.

Are you intelligent enough to implement your belief system?

Or have you already implemented it?

If so, please show me the results.

The bible does say who we should NOT FOLLOW.

Luke 21:8

He said: “Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The due time has approached.’ Do not go after them.

Do not go after them.

If a person obeyed the above commandment then he would be following Jesus Christ.

So can you think of anyone claiming to speak for Jesus Christ who told you the due time would be in 1975?
