  Jonas Brothers Bump Convention Dates!!!

  just heard this from a friend of mine ((he doesn't know i feel the way i do about wbts)) out in the seattle area.

  the normal convention days of friday-sunday were originally announced way back in january, now due to the society getting an exceptional deal from the tacoma dome, they agreed to move the convention from thursday-saturday ((this was announced a couple of months ago)) so the jonas brothers could play their show on sunday.

  i work at a private career college.....in the past 4 weeks, there have been 3 instructors laid off. last year at this time the company was hiring and expanding.

  Picture of Jesus in the KH

  a jw friend told me that a newly remodeled kh in the area has a big picture of jesus with his hand extended in the entrance.

  since it's a picture that is from the publications many say it's ok. sounds really out of place to me.

  my old KH had lame watercolor paintings of nature scenes in the lobby. felt like a dentist's office. i wish they put up big murals of the armegeddon art work. now that's some gnarly art!

  i've always imagined a 60-year-old man with white hair who is really arrogant and grumpy with an evil look in his eyes, a very cold person who wanted to do nothing but ruin people's lives and was working for satan.

  i never imagined i'd be one.... ...that or a 55-year-old woman with gray hair with glasses and a very rude look, and smarter-than-thou attitude.. you?.

  people were created by god as heterosexual, but some are today homosexual as a result of imperfection - punishment for disobedience of adam a eve..... but why there is so much homosexuality among god created animals?

  Purple Triangles - Symbol of JW faith?

  i clicked on one of the google-ad sponsors on jwn, and saw the purple triangle on the http://www.servicesupplies.net/ website.

  so help me understand this: is it ok for a jw to use the nazi symbol of a purple triangle to identify themselves, but using the cross is not acceptable?.

  There was an elder in my old cong that had a purple triangle sticker on the back of hs mini-van like a bumper sticker. He said that it "started lots of conversations." I thought it was weird. (He had no personal connection to anyone who actually had to wear the coloured shape.)

  why didn't they approach me?

  this past saturday morning, i was walking through downtown guelph ontario when i saw 3 ppl standing on corners of an intersection with what i instantly recognized to be watchtowers in their hands.

  while i was at an atm, i watched them approach various strangers and i started to get excited, thinking about what i would say to them when approached.

  (1 middle aged woman 1 teenage girl and 1 man - interestingly, i first doubted the man was a dub because he had no jacket, blue shirt, orange tie, and had a cell phone attached to his belt - i cant imagine ever being allowed in service with a visible cellphone.).

  i found that photo on a website that collects graffiti pics from hamilton. he's actually standing at, arguably, the busiest corner in town. often his wife will be 10-20 feet away presenting the magazines in the same way.

  ummm.....any ontario ppl know if copps is being used this year for a DC? if so, on what dates should i expect the circus to arrive?

  thanks for your responses. like some of you, i sometimes couldnt care less about talking to them....but like others, i sometimes wanna stir the pot.

  in my home town i often see this man standing silently holding his magazines up. i have never approached him and he does not approach others.

  ok so the mate took good notes at the ca and here is the newest on "higher education:.

  the usual bashing of motives: those who want great wealth, prestige and seek it in a college educationcollege graduates don't always get jobs in their fieldsdrugs, drinking and sex are "rampant" at collegesthose who want to "snatch us away" are near if we go to college (isa 54)if we seek a college education, we are not spiritual mindedthe most disturbing for me was this:.

  those who choose college will not get blessings from jehovahand of course there was the obligatory interview with the college graduate who disdains the education whe received.. .

  i have some interesting experiences in this area because i left the org in my second year of studying philosophy at university.

  anyways....i once recall an elder saying on the platform that "you dont need to go to college/uni because you can gain a university level education through reading the awake magazine."

  my family and i still joke about this outrageous comment.

  they were approaching everyone who walked by; however, they did not try to get the attention of my friend or myself, despite me walking intentionally close towards them. i was a dub from the time i was 4 to 21. i'm now 28. my friend and i dont look like scary punks/rockers/gangstas (hehe) or troublemakers. we were laughing and drinking coffees @ 8 am on a saturday. but all 3 looked at us and decided to not approach us. there's no way they could have known i used to be a dub because i lived and grew up in another city.

  i wonder what they were thinking....that we're ignorant frat dudes? that 2 young men would be confrontational?

  too bad for them...they missed a memorable conversation.

  any thoughts on why they passed me over? *insert holy spirit guidance joke here

  and....i wonder what others would say if they were approached. could you suggest a short comment/reply to make to a street preaching jay-doubleyou shook up? make them go home and start researching?
