  whoopie specifically asked sherry about jws and their prediction of the end of the world.

  she said that the jws were having public meetings to tell people how to survive the end.. sherry answered that the predictions came from the bible and that the jws predicted the end in 1975 and they were still waiting.. the others chimed in with a lot of jokes so not much more was said but i was glad sherry got to say something and that the end was predicted in 1975..

  Sheri Shepard also mentioned that many sold all their possessions believing 1975 was the end.

  I seems like she is trying to use the "View" to give her view on the Jehovah Witness religion.

  I bet the WTS is not happy about her strong voice.

  The Biggest B.S. stories you've heard from a talk

  a few years ago at a convention, they related a story of a jw who was shot during service.

  but rather then stop and get medical attention (like a normal person would have done) they moved on to the next door to finish the street.

  when they got to the house the householder just so happened to be a (you guessed it) nurse!

  are you hanging in there with life and moving on- post witness ?

  i'm sure most are staying busy with work- or staying busy looking for work with this economy.

  are you moving on and enjoying life in your leisure time ?

  Not great right now.

  I'm new to this forum and new to the heartbreak of the whole molestation crapola.(personally affected) We are in the process of trying to figure out what to do.

  Do we move on and try to ignore the last few years and what we have seen and how we have been treated? Do we jump right back into the congregation pretending everything is fine?

  Do we leave everything we have known most of our life? Do we lose all our friends(?) and risk our families turning on us as well?

  Right now we have just been trying to keep busy with putting the kids in sports and other activities that keep the whole family busy. Which has been a great distraction. The kids are making new friends and loving it, but I can't help to feel a little guilty thinking... what if we are doing the wrong thing?

  We rarely attend meetings anymore we have a hard time listening to local talks like one that was given where the speaker mentioned a news story where a man was accused of molesting his young family members and how these horrible things happen outside Jehovah's Org I was so upset that they still will not mention these things also happen within.

  i'm reading the trial, by franz kafka.

  pretty interesting read so far, though i'm only about 90 pages into it.

  it's about a man who is arrested, but no one will tell him what he's been charged with, or give him any information at all.

  Okay.. I'm a big fan of Cancun, Mx the Rivera Maya area about and hour drive from the airport. They have great all inclusive with all meals and drinks included. It's on the Caribbean side of the ocean so the water is clear and calm you can see the fish swimming past you as you swim.

  It's very hot in the summer months so we enjoy late spring or early fall but hey if your not afraid of a little burn it's so worth the money especially now with everyone afraid of the pig flu.

  Your in the water 50% of the time and eating the other 50%.

  Many enjoy just pulling the lounge chairs right in the water with a a nice novel in one hand and a Margarita in the other... it's all good.

  Maybe a JC could be sued for sexual assault?

  think about it, what if your young daughter was assaulted sexually by someone in the congregation.. you go to the elders and their is a jc.. the elders of course want to talk to the girl alone without the parents present and then proceed to ask the girl sexually explicit questions.. i've been in that situation and let me tell you, the jc is a rape in itself.

  you can check out numerous threads on this board and also on silentlambs and you will see that i am not the only one that felt that way.. .

  maybe a jury would think so too?.

  I understand what your talking about I had to witness my child being questioned(interrogated) by the elders in a molestation case It was something I will never get over, I still have nightmares about it.

  I think part of it is guilt for allowing it to happen. I had no idea what we were in for. Then I was in shock. It just added to our nightmare.

  she made another comment on the view that the jw's believe only that 144,000 will go to heaven, in her own way she is definitely getting the word out that the dubs are totally off the wall.

  so whoopi gives her that wtf comment like, how do you know you're one of the chosen?.

  i remember when she mentioned she had to go before the elders when she was a teen for sexual conduct and had these grown men questioning her about all the "details" and her father just sat their just looking down and keeping quiet, i remember the audience actually gasped when she relayed that story.. keep up the good work sister sherry, with all the people that watch the show, she's definitely gettin' the word out they are total nutjobs !
