so my active jw wife is feeling under the weather tonight and told me she won't be attending the meeting, but she was on the fence becase they announced an important letter was being read tonight.
anyone heard anything?
maybe it's just a local thing, but i like to try and see what's coming around the corner.. .
I listened in and the one I heard was all about the H1N1 virus and to the proper ways of coughing into your arm or clothing. They even gave permission to stay home if we are sick.
I was one who never took jury duty serious, I would find any excuse in the book not to do it.
Not anymore!
My child was molested by a fellow JW and thankfully 12 people just like the rest of us agreed that the dirt-bag should be sent away for a very long time and for them I'm so grateful ... unlike John Doe, it should never be joked about like a flip of a coin because many victims leave their lives are in the hands of 12 individuals that take time out of their busy lives to give back, and that's exactly how I look upon jury duty now.
made you look, made you stare, made the barber cut your hair,.
cut it long, cut it chort, cut it with a knife and folk.. .
thats a silly saying we would say as kids...you would pretend someone had dropped something, when they looked you say that lol.
Cinderella dressed in yella,
Went downstairs to kiss a fella,
Made a mistake and kissed a snake.
How many doctors did it take
1, 2, 3, . . . .
i have a few which still either anger me, make me sad or just make me grateful that i am no longer one of them.
1 - "well, everyone is going to die anyway, so if it at armageddon then ce la vie" 2 - "the disater today at the world trade centre is sad, but exciting" 3 - (an elder) "when armageddon happens, i want to be at a window, watching it all".
sick, sick, sick!
My pioneer MIL told my husband how we need to get back to the meetings and we should be happy the the JW that molested our child didn't kill her. Yeah, sure made me want to march back to the KH....NOT!!
i'm curious how many of you gals get excited about tools?
i just love having the right tool for the job.
i got an excellent socket set and tool box full of stuff for xmas a couple of years ago, but i keep discovering cool stuff that i want.
Oh Beksbks,
I feel for you! I remember my husband and I deciding to put sprinklers in our backyard ourselves Yeah, after using a pick ax for hours in the California heat hitting rocks in flip flops ( not to bright) in order to make a trench to put the pips down... I was literately in tears by the end of the day
Sometimes it's just better to pay out the money.
and if so how was it handled?.
was it because of illness?.
or extreme case of nature calling?
Bookstudy conductors stomach started to rumble and I mean rumble his face started to show discomfort as he leans over to whisper in another brothers ear and off he runs to the bathroom. The look on his preteen daughters faces was priceless...They turned bright red and stuck their head in the book. Needless to say he waited for his family in the car.
Poor guy, I remember before that incident I thought what a handsome man with the perfect beautiful wife and lovely girls, after that all I could remember is that look on his face
i've noticed we have a few male posters here with wives who are still in the jws.
and i can think of one female poster (cognac) with a husband in the jws (although things are looking up for her).
of course we have a few spouses that came out together.. is it me, or does it seem like the women here are more likely to have divorced their jw husband--even before leaving--whereas the men are more likely to stay with their wives?
Still married we have been inactive around 7 months and thinking of fading together.
i still can't believe it.
she was here for the bbq, we had an awesome time, laughing, her telling stories from our childhoods.
i gave her a hug and told her i loved her before she left.
I'm so very sorry for you and your family, deepest sympathies:((
hi posters.
in the uk 50% of marriages fail.
maybe around half of those who stay married are not really that happy.. .
Yes, it works beautifully if you pick the right one. Like others mentioned being friends first is key!
My husband and I have been through the worse 2 years of our lives. If I didn't have him I seriously believe I wouldn't have made it through.
He totally took on the role of mother , father, cook, and house cleaner when mentally I couldn't do any of it.
Like they say sometimes you don't know how strong your marriage is until somthing happens to test it.
I couldn't imagian not having him in my life.
For us Marriage works.
