My daughter (JW) just called .......
by mouthy inafter all these years!!!!
she is 63 yrs old still a jw.. has shunned me for years.. she lives in montreal me in ontario... .
last week i got the urge to send her a lovely card just to tell her i love her .

I hate that it gets to me!!
by Newborn injust back from lunch and met two different former good friends from my congregation (i live in a small town) and they, of course, turned their backs on me... and it makes me feel strange and bad even though they're the ones who should really feel bad.... how can i learn to ignore it??.
makes me both sad and angry at the same time.
grrrr.

I'm learning not to take it anymore as well.
I'm not DFed or DA just inactive and fading..but it never fails when I run into the JW's from the congregation they try to avoid me. I make it a point to loudly approach the and put on a huge smile saying" it's so nice to see you!!" They have only one two choices... engage me in some small talk, or look like a rude ass by ignoring me.
I'm not letting them control my feelings any longer and it feels AWESOME!

Did You Personally Know Any JWs That Were Sexually Molested By Other JWs?
by minimus ini knew of a handful (which is too many) that were molested by a jehovah's witness.
it was not typical in my experience.
what about you???.

My opinion ...Lady Lee wants victims to look at their situation as something you can recover from and wants so much for families to see there is hope. I respect and needed to hear that from someone who has been there and knows what she is talking about.
I for one was frightened by what NLHC posted... I know he/her meant no harm and was only giving their experence of what they see but I can see how LL would be offended and want to strongly offer her experence as well.
I'm only a few years into the nightmare of my child being molested by a fellow JW, and trying to do all I can to make our family get back to some kind of normal (not working very well) I prefer to hear positive outlooks. I mean, I now down deep inside that we have no way of knowing how this will effect our child years down the line but we really need to think positive and hope that rubs of on our children.

Thank you for clearing that up Lady Lee.
It scares the heck out of me to read that stuff.. being a mother of a young victim of molestation. I'm so scared she wont be okay even though we did have her her in counseling when it first happened.
Right now she seems fine and we openly talk about it, but she still hasn't become a teen. I'm so afraid of not doing the right thing I want her to grow up and live a normal life.
My husband and I were thrown into shock a few weeks ago when my teen son admitted to being depressed and even cut himself once, when all of this was going one a couple of years ago because he felt guilty for not protecting his little sister and also because of how we were treated by the congregation.
I just can't believe people just expect you to move on after this happens to you family! It's like a never ending nightmare. You just don't know what hiding behind the next corner.
Being a JW and the molester being a JW makes it so much worse.

by garyneal ini've stated this before on this message board but i was kind of curious about this and wanted to get some feedback from the group.
in particular, the ladies who are either current or former jw's.. about a year or so ago, my wife went with me to a church i was attending at the time.
we then later that morning attended a kh meeting.

Okay I got a good one Maybe because although raised a JW by his mother... his father never was and insisted on him attending college and being a good man by example. Love his dad.
