Where did you sit in the KH?
by Evidently Apostate inthe official wt understanding on where to park your butt during the meeting is to move around from meeting to meeting in order to get in more association or whatever but i never really saw things that way.
the kh seating arraingment at my hall went as follows;.
if you sat in the front you were really late or wanted to seem really spiritual.. the elders and pioneers always liked the same seats every meeting.. shiftless ones and those who wanted sympathy for thier back ailments would stand in the back during the talks.. ever had a sister in your hall bring in their own chair and footstool?.

Ruth I'm so sorry I was in tears reading your post, I couldn't imagine!
For me it was the molestation of my 9 year old daughter by a very loved and respected ex-elder that sent us over the edge. The way we were treated by our "shepherds" at a most tragic time was shocking and eye opening! We really suffered as a family for a good few years dealing with a trial and the trying to make sure our child was helped all while we were devastated was the hardest thing we ever went through.
We are currently inactive and not planning on going back.

Had quite a few of those in my congregation.
One to add to the list..
Brother Hug a lot : You know the one that insists on a full blown frontal hug to catch a little boob action!! Yuk... that guy gave me the creeps, I would take the long way around the KH to avoid him.

MIL gives advice on how to "cope"
by AggieNostic inmy wife's parents just can't stand that we haven't been to meetings since 2005. both are pioneers, retired, active fanatical jws.. anyway, today mil called the wife and after pleasantries, stated that we should really think about coming back to the meetings so we can better cope.
my wife answered: "cope with what?
" mil: "cope with this old system of things..." wife: "hmmm... we seem to be coping pretty well now".

They talk about how happy they are, but then begin to list all the horrible things going on in the congregation..people getting sick, dying, losing jobs and homes and how the world is at the end and thankfully so
It's really sad seeing them unable to enjoy the wonderful things in life right now! They have to convince themselves it ALL bad and horrible in order to push what they believe.
It's a sad way to live.

It's a good thing Jerry has your son and you to talk to I bet it's relief for him to know he can be open with you about how he feels. Lets be honest most kids at that age are very aware that they are being feed some BS.
My 16 year old told me he knew it was a bunch of lies when he was 14. Now, like Jerry is's all about the girls!! (oh no)

My mom to my daughter: "BD party might be fun but it will make Jah sad"
by SweetBabyCheezits inwe've allow a little freedom for my jw mom to visit our daughter at lunch at the school since we're df'd now.
um, because we're idiots, maybe.
so my daughter tells me this evening that she was chatting with mom at lunch today and mentioned a birthday party she's attending this weekend.

You have every right to revoke you mothers visits I would do the same under those circumstances.
It really sucks what this religion does to families!! One day your mother will wish she didn't take your gesture and respect it, she'll never get the time she threw away by being a stubborn JW instead of a loving grandma
