AGM 2014 - How are faders gonna hide in plain sight anymore?
by tootired2care inso two big changes in the org were announced in the most recent agm.. local needs part is replaced by "how do you know the truth" where all members will tell their experience (oh what fun).
basic pioneer role 10 only hours a month required (see, jehovah lightens our load, therefore he loves only us)!.
it seems like they have really turned up the heat here.

Years ago when I was an elder I would occasionally take the watchtower study as a stand in for the stand in!
Anyway you always had a core of (usually) "spiritual" sisters - elders wives, elders widows, super-pioneers that would answer till their tongues bled and I was grateful for them - I didn't even like long silences when doing question and answer items for just ten minutes in the service meeting or bible highlights. Now I see them as mainly deluded zealots.
You had as many sisters who would never answer. They were often "don't feel worthy" or "highly strung" or "panic attackers" who would just sit there dumb.
If you are a sister just "join" this group!
Brothers often were lame at answering - especially in bible highlights or service meeting discussions because you can't just see an answer in a paragraph without pre-studying it. Just join that group too. If you have social issues just play that card and say you don't feel comfortable on the stage. Or "develop" said social issues.
The tricky bit is keeping your poker-face with your wife.

@Hildebrando
Any more detail on the 'basic pioneer' - 10 hours thing?
Some publishers - non auxiliary pioneeers - do that and much more every month.

New Appointments Are Very Fast & All On The CO
by baldeagle inthe week of september 15, 2014 was the congregations cos visit.
the midweek meeting was on tuesday, a very general bland talk was given by the co. in the past we would have had the elders & servants meeting on thursday night, and the other congregation meeting on friday.
as you know the friday meeting is no more.

Now I don't see it like this (accountability) - I think this is a simple follow the dollars job.
Here in UK - how many congs? 1500? Let's say just one appointment/deletion per CO visit on average. That's 3000 processing and rubber stamps to get though - ten/twelve a working day for one man for a year. They can save a bethelite's (and his toilet cleaning wife's) board and lodging by chucking it to the CO to do. Now take all the pioneer on and offs being done by the Service Committees - that's another bethel couple to lose.
Now take all the appealed deletions that need branch approval - all down the COs' chute.
In the USA times that by what 8? So lots of lolly saved.

my first post! (long read sorry in advance)
by Letts Party inlong time lurker, first time poster here finally looking to get some things off my chest.
i've always been a very curious person with tons of questions about everything, and i also care deeply particularly about societal issues like social injustice, racism, and homophobia.
that, coupled with how boneheaded all the elders in my congregation are (except for one), led me to ask even more questions that led me to find ttatt.. .

Why do you come here?
by love2Bworldly ini come here to learn, but i also come here because it feels like a private club and i'm privy to be a member of the "in" crowd.
it's a great place to socialize.
does anyone else feel that they are a member of a special "club" when they come here, that only some people in this world will understand the jw world?.
