  Are You A Thinker And A Lurker?

  you will already be wondering about a number of aspects of jw doctrine and how they stack up against reason, logic and modern scientific evidence.

  if so, then i appeal to you to meditate and reason on one implication arising from the latest news that the next publication will be a simplified version of an already simplified book.

  A simple explanation for the financial changes

  as i've mentioned from time to time, i'm a retired accountant.

  i have tried many times to come up with some logical, sound business reason why the wtbs has made the big changes in its financial arrangements: taking the congregations savings, the monthly donations per congregation etc.

  i finally came up with the answer.. the leadership of the watchtower society is batshit crazy.

  They do get it spectacularly wrong at times. I mean hiring Monica Applewhite to tell the RAC about how good jw's are at handling child abuse cases really backfired.

  If your advisors - whether financial, legal, property or child abuse - are only interested in keeping their lucrative contracts with you and milking you or if they are jw's keeping their board and lodging and positions of power they will tell you how wonderful you are and agree with you (to your face) when you say you are god's spokesmen, and then you will never get the really needed advice.

  Remember when the yearbooks would tell us how the (worldly) M.A.N. press salesmen and installers would tell them "you really are god's people" or it's "obvious god is directing you!" Sucking at the teat of the cash cow the lot of them.

  Latest rumor - all WT construction "suspended", except for Warwick

  heard 4th-hand, but from a full-on believer, so not likely to be an "apostate lie":.

  apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.

  so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.

  Are they in major financial trouble right now?

  Or do they just see it a'comin' down the pike?

  To this small mind I think they are only "in trouble" now because they won't borrow money to build War-wick and the London branch against the vast wealth they have tied up in New York property (and to a lesser extent London) but want donations.

  But a'comin down the pike they've got to be sweating like they're in a sauna eating vindaloo simply because of the pedo lawsuits.

  It's only nine days until the annual meeting ... so possible. GB and "Helpers" will go ape-shit (UK expression for "going mental" ) trying to find the source of that. Mind you there is a small chance they are putting it out just to catch "the spy".

  If it is genuine and they don't change it then it is great that someone high up enough to know about it has leaked it.

  Shame the meeting is still 1hr 45; you'd think with all the dumbing down they might drop to 1hr 30. Same crap different name.

  Big video of lots of smiling black faces stood in front of their new scaffold pole sided kingdom hall with tin roof and of course with the blueborg logo stuck out at right-angles on it. Song "Let it rain let it snow this is where your lolly goes ..." played over it then "Oh sunny day why not pay let it make Jehovah's day!" to round it off with six whirling trolley carts spinning madly.

  Videos of big earth movers building War-wick ready for the new system. Snippet of the London project mentioned too.

  A ten minute video of how even when your branch office closes you can show loyalty by bringing the good news to your dying relatives - starring Geoff Jackson and his Pa.

  Tony Morris reminding us of how good his sons and "oh so meek" daughters-in-law make him look.

  My question is why did they broadcast this? Because they are getting dissent and they don't like it? Good.

  Notice how Tony Morris catches and involuntarily changes tone and facial expression on words he doesn't like to hear even when reading from scripture - "complaining" from the Greeks about their widows. It's bothersome to him even after admitting the apostles distributed food Jesus miraculously provided.

  Last month we had a bit on child abuse and he gave us "professed victim".

  "Professed" is a borg judgemental word usually used with "professed" Christians to show the borg don't like'em and have judged them non-christian.

  If Tony Morris was about in ancient times he would be banging the rock and grudgingly giving out water and not getting into the promised land.
