I say no.
But then in May 1941 Rudolph Hess flew away from Nazi Germany when it was right at the peak of its power.
I don't suppose we'll ever fully know why.
we saw it with raymond franz.
but do you think we could ever see one of the current gb members or future ones, make the same choice?.
to leave, and expose it..
I say no.

years ago when i was "in" i loved the book study.
it was my favorite meeting by far.
mainly because it was a small group.
It was a relief to have another "free" evening where I didn't have to put on a tie and go out for the evening and up until about 2004 when I was still an elder I was always a book study group overseer so that made it even worse.
Given the choice I would rather have kept a one hour study in someone's home and dropped the midweek meeting at the KH.
i have seen a lot of new posters intro stories on here, also updates from those who have been around for a while.
i just want to take 1 post to beg those reading to speak up.
it was a big turning point for me and one of the best decisions i made.
@The Rebel
"KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON" - lurking and posting!

Good post! Really encouraging to hear from others travelling the same journey.
Armageddy ain't a happenin' anytime soon.
Jahwayh's garlic-munching jwdot orgasm is busy trying to balance telling us how Elijah stood up to 450 Baal prophets in the cong "bible" study and yet letting Geoffrey Jackson wimp out to the polite questions of the Australian Royal Commission.
And Watchtower isn't going to reach out of your computer and expose you as a doubter!
when you found out all the sins of fellow witnesses did it effect how you treated them?
it was shocking when i found out the range of bs these people did to each other.
i don't mean sexual abuse, i mean fraud, theft, infidelity and more.
In our hall it is easy to identify the recently "dealt with" - if they answered and stop answering they've had a private reproof. If they were running a microphone and are "not on zer list" they've had a private reproof. They were all over cart (non)witnessing and now they're not? = Private reproof.
The "best one" I knew of were the self-righteous finger pointing pioneer wife and the persistent porn problem elder husband who got caught by said wife! They were always on about "immodest clothing" worn by others. She went to pieces and came off of pioneering and he got removed from being an elder.
I had an un-christian feeling of grim satisfaction over that one.
it is rather clear that the internet is to put it mildly, wrecking the world of the watchtower bible & tract society.
if not for foreign language i doubt there would be much growth at all.. digital trends and analytics are very real.
i live this analytics world i assure you to some degree you can take it to the bank.
And notice how even in average joe's link it peaks around August/October 2014 and drops steadily down to February 2016.
Is this because jwdotorgasm was really pushed in the summer of 2014 and now interest is already waning?
watchtower caught lying again in the december 15th article “a living translation of god's word”.
more like a lying then a living translation of god”s word if you ask me.
but i digress... .
those of you fading- with the memorial approaching are you going to appease family?
not going and making up an excuse?
acting like your going but not really?.
Maybe if you feel you "have to attend" or "truthfully say you have attended " you could go to:
Another congregation in your hall as "the time suits better" = less love bombing/awkwardness
A congregation in another town "where your relative/friend who's invited you attends" - just go to a hall where you know no-one at all.
Or if you want to lie and make an excuse:-
Go away for a short break and "attend in London/Edinburgh/Cardiff" or some other plausible late winter citybreak type of place where there are several halls to choose from. You need to know the town well enough to blag it mind!
Be "really really sick" and use the phone in link (which didn't work again) and ignore the phone.
The best one tho' has to be jwfacts "don't go - they can't df you for it!"
ok, ok, so the actual title of the article released today on jw-org is "young people askshould i get a tattoo?
", but i thought i'd replace some words and phrases from the actual article, as follows:"regardless of the motive, you should think long and hard before deciding to have anything growing out of .
your skin!
@pale.emperor
Your last paragraph in bold strikes me as strange coming from somebody from the UK.
in the u.s., three's company was not allowed.
it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.
the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..
My parents weren't real jw die-hards when it came to TV watching in the UK.
In the 1970's the UK only had 3 channels and Colour TV was only transmitted on one of them part time from 1967 and by mid 1970 all 3 were full time colour.
My family were fairly early in getting a colour TV and I remember that my normally frugal parents spent £250 on a Colour TV set (about £3000 in todays values!) in 1970 from an inheritance. I distinctly remember my mother saying we might as well spend it as "it would be all over by 1975!"
So programmes - Bewitched was allowed although other jw's felt it was "wrong".
Scooby-Doo was my favourite which I always got away with because as I said "it was always the fairground owner or the museum curator in a sheet"
Smurfs were never big over here and were just viewed like the seven dwarfs in my area - no one to tell us they were demonised!
Dr. Who/Star Trek/Star Wars - no problem. A bit of concern over Lord of the Rings and in later years Harry Potter seemed to be a no-no but I always took the view it was fantasy and watched it without telling anyone!
Soaps
Dallas was big over here and a cause of debates. The UK Soaps of Coronation Street and especially Eastenders were watched and condemned in equal measure by the moderates and the self-righteous.
I remember my mother being told by a self righteous elder relative that she shouldn't watch soaps and she told him that as long as he watched James Bond films with "sex and violence" he could keep his nose out!
Superman and Batman was OK and Disney fantasy stuff like Beauty and the Beast was too so in a jw way it was quite moderate.
