Well done! Well done! To you and Candace Conti and those that put themselves through the gruelling processes to make this world a safer place. Just wonderful.
I wish I had your courage. You are an inspiration.
hello to everyone.. i hope you are all well and sorting things out between yourselves.
i have temporary internet access which is probably a good thing for now.
i have been contacted by the arc in a respectful and loving manner today.

if you are a new person to the board you might want to send scully a pm thanking her for her hard work and dedication.
the boe project owes her for helping it to get started.. example:.
several years ago there was a website called (dirtclod.com) who had the courage to display the boes right out in front of everybody.
hi, new here but have been lurking for a while.
some background first, i am from the uk, 3rd gen born in, dad, grandad elders etc.
17 years ago i left, no df or da just left, 18 years old and alone but i did it and have had no regrets.
Tough call. Welcome to the forum.
Firstly as you describe yourself as "freeandcontent" is there any reason why you cannot tell your mum what you found wrong with the jw's? (As if two convicted paedo's in your old hall isn't enough!)
Secondly once you have expressed yourself politely, kindly but firmly you can tell her that is why you don't want your 3 year old's head filled with ""die at Armageddon if she doesn't "love" Jehovah enough to get into paradise.""
Your mother will deny that is what she will tell her but that is the fact of it isn't it?
so my hubby has been on a bit of a roll about the jdubs, we were talking a lot about them & he said the buzz word he hate's the most is "worldly" why?
because he say's "with that one word they have condemned (according to their believes) a person as being worthy of nothing but death.
".
hello everyone, i hope you are all ok. .
my name is conan, i am 25, and from the uk.
i have some brain damage, so i apologise in advance if my syntax is off or i go a long way around explaining things.
Hi Conan - I know this is only a very small part of your replies but you brought it up and further replied to say you believe that the "first moon landing" may not have happened but that "the others did".
May I ask which one of the others you believe to have happened first? And why not the first one?
This is not a trick or to belittle but I am trying to get a handle on your thought processes.
I believe it is only right to tell you that I believe that the moon landings happened as generally described. Reinforced by my watching them live on TV as a kid. I never heard of anyone disbelieving them until after the highly watchable entertainment film "Capricorn 1" came along in 1978. This disbelief became more prevalent as the internet became more widely used.
My belief was reinforced by a recent exhibition at the London Science museum showing the Russian (USSR) lunar landing vehicles including their version of a lunar module - which of course didn't get sent into space at all but which was in fact built ready for if and when they had a space rocket powerful enough to get it there.
If the first moon-landing didn't happen then why did the Russians not shout loud and clear it was a fake? Just one point.
my first post here and unfortunately it is asking for help.. i was a born in jehovah's witness and from my earliest memories, i know i hated being one.
i hated the embarrassment of being the "outsider" at school and i hated not being allowed to have any friends.
of course i had the obligatory friends in the kingdom hall - none of whom were my age exactly and none of whom i would have personally chosen to be friends with if i had been left to pick them myself in a natural setting.
@wayoutthere
No, it isn't ALL your parents fault. It is partly - at least - the WTS's leaders fault. They bear MUCH responsibility.
It might just be that one of your parents had a traumatic event (death of a loved one?) that happened to coincide with those lovely pioneers - who themselves were taken in at the height of WW2 or the Cuban missile crisis by Judge Ratherflawed and/or Mad Freddie Franz's Coming Climax - promising Panda Petting Paradise.
You seem to see things in "absolutes" - life isn't like that. You seem to have a lot of resentment towards your parents. They might have been weak and gullible but unless they abused you I suggest you get some perspective for your and your partner's well-being.
I sometimes wallow in "what if's" about my jw upbringing but I think my mother (especially) was selfish but also weak and foolish and did what she could with her own upbringing (including WW2) of a domineering father and a perpetually sick mother.
I love that you can see the irrationality of your views - it means you can overcome this and move forward.

@Conan
What do you believe regarding the moon-landings?
heres hoping.
i have a 2005 yamaha r6, with extras.
i am looking to purchase a 2008 (design is beautiful and low miles compared to mine.
Hi RavenPearl
I believe you're over thinking this. Dealers are there to make money. You're there to get the best deal you can.
If you are emotionally attached to a particular bike then you will pay more. Salespeople (in whatever field) are trained to press those buttons.
I bought a brand new Honda in the UK for my wife and got 12.5% off of list price and a set of waterproofs thrown in the deal. If I had gone to a discount dealer I might have got 20% off. But I wanted it to be local so she could ride in and get a bit of TLC when the bike needed servicing during its warranty.
My own bike I bought secondhand and privately because I was able to do basic servicing and there was no warranty aftercare involved.
Your "blue book" in the USA is probably about right give or take up or down for mileage accessories - we have similar in the UK - that I suggest is where you want to be.
Make an offer and walk away. You can always swallow your pride and go back the next week because it will still be there if it's overpriced! If you are close to the salespersons minimum deal he will come after you with a better offer.
Ticket price: £6000
Salesman "£5000 - it's my very best super duper price, my boss will kill me!"
You: "I really want it but I've only got £4,000."
Salesman "Sorry can't do it."
You: "I'll go a way and think about it." (SALESPEOPLE HATE THIS!)
S. "Meet me half way then ..."
dear mentally diseased apostates,.
we are happy to report to you that we are tired of waiting around for jehovah to do his his whole "armageddon thing" and have instead taken steps to expedite the end ourselves.
we are very confident as "guardians of the doctrine" that we can accomplish this by dismantling the wtbts and its subsidiaries which will, in turn, force god's hand and bring about the coming of jesus riding on a white horse out of the clouds with a sword - or skulls - or scales - err, whatever .
LETTER TWO
Dear M.D.A.
Since our last letter we write to say things are going swimmingly! To accelerate the decline you will note that "Tight Pants" are being highlighted as Brazen Conduct in the June 15th Watchtower.
Also that Garlic bread features as the leavening that ferments the whole lump on jay-w-dot-orgasm in the excellent broadcast by Brother Flo-down.
Finally we will be "Lett-ing" you have more Lett on GBTV! If this doesn't bring the numbers down and close the checking accounts we do not know what will!
Warmest regards,
Splane, Morris and the Spoutcraps
