@hoser
Quite right! Funny how the mind plays tricks.
So "her face" in the jar was her make up not her teeth. Oops!
in fact just like the watchtower, i've no idea what they were writing about half the time.
all that rubbish about " i am the walrus" and eleanor rigby keeping her teeth in a jam jar or something, and what "lucy the in the sky with diamonds" means i do not know!
anyway, i mention the above because shortly after i quit meetings, beattle loving brother, ian x also, stopped attending meetings, and i watched him transform himself in to a, scruffy bearded, hippyish, beer drinking slob, ( translation a great guy) .

so my wife and her sisters found out this weekend that their mother has contemplated donating her home to the wt.
she did not tell them directly.
i am afraid she knew they would not agree.

Eleanor Rigby was very good in 1966 - about the loneliness of people.
The teeth in the jar by the door was simply a reference to her old age and putting her dentures in a glass of cleaning fluid at night for the next day.
"Father McKenzie - writing the lines of a sermon that no-one will hear ... all the lonely people, where do they all come from ... "
Could be written for the hopelessness of some of the Watchtower slaves actually.
Quite haunting.
the january 8, 2000 awake magazine published an article "the growing demand for bloodless medicine and surgery".
this article has been quoted extensively by jws as support for their "scientific" justification for refusing blood products.. a quote from that article that is familiar to most jws and exjws is this one:.
“all those dealing with blood and caring for surgical patients have to consider bloodless surgery.”—dr.
@Blues brother I think you mean 8th of January Awake 2000 - Damn Americans with their back to front Month and Day calendars!
Was that the one where on the front a guy is in surgeons garb and has a grey-stubble beard?
if you are a fader or you have reduced activity markedly - say resigned as a pioneer or an elder or ms or gone inactive and still have some relationship with your immediate family or spouse - how do you stay positive around them when you feel like shaking them out of their stupor but believe deep down it would be counter productive?.
thoughts from all most welcome..

so today was the one day assembly or whatever it's called now.
fun times.😳.

Thanks Darkknight, actually 2350 is "big" for a circuit assembly round my way. Ours are usually about 900. So your 19 equates to about 0.8%.
So size for size that would be like our circuit assembly day having 7 baptised which would be higher than usual but not exceptional.
As for your question - the parts of the bible I still believe are relevant I tend to go with literal rather than anything beyond.

music: both rap and heavy metal music have recently come under increasing fire for similar content problems.
songs that glorify the sexual degradation and abuse of women, violence and hatred toward various races and policemen, and even satanism have all been found among rap and heavy metal records.
my writing a book about my strange life as a jw.
i need some help.. does anyone remember when they used to get these charts out at the service meetings which had all the hours, "back calls" and bible studies on it?
what did they call that?.
I just remember the piano (no stories) and the skits lasted a bit longer - into the late 60's.
I vividly remember a reversible coat demo so that "when the persecution came" the sister could reverse the coat to a different colour in the ministry.
A "householder" with a rolling pin in her hand told the sister she would be reported to the police for "banned religious activity".
A brother in a UK policeman's helmet (where he got that from I don't know!) pretended to question her asking if she had seen a woman in a blue coat (which she had reversed to a brown coat) - and she coyly pleaded innocence and said she had seen someone down the next street (which of course was her with the coat reversed the other way.) and off he goes down the aisle blowing a whistle calling out "come on chaps we'll find her and lock her up!"
All hammed up and very English. As a kid I loved it.
Demo in public talks.
This was late 70's and a visiting speaker turned up with a young couple in tow who did a demo about not having paid their electricity bill and that the red letter reminder had arrived and so they immediately paid it and resolved never to do that again because we should pay our debts promptly on time!
Oh the guilt! They hammed it up like they had defrauded an old aged pensioner!
so today was the one day assembly or whatever it's called now.

19 baptised is disappointingly high! Lol.
What was the attendance please?
Was this mainstream USA? Or something unusual about the area?
