Are they either leaving or going full on 'cult mode'? No quarter.

it might just be me imagining things.. i hear things from my jw spies.. from all that's being said, it seems to me that the rank and file(tm), are either waking up to the scam and fading/leaving.

they are going full on 'cult mode' and acting like 'spiritual police'.. is it just me and my imagination?

have others noticed this?.

The information freely available on the net is their Achilles' heel.

GB don't "want" people to leave. (Just like an abusive father/husband doesn't want his enabling wife and kids to leave) They want people to "shape up" to their man made self serving rules and standards. But increasingly people don't want to and see less reason why they should as all the promises made have been overtaken by time.

So the GB try to guilt trip, bully and scare them into staying. Increasingly stridently so this year with their "loyalty" message. And they portray Jehovah as an abusive heavenly father as they have made him in their own abusive, controlling image.

£1 million pound fine

hi a court in the uk in loughborough have fined the jws over £1 million pounds for the court costs for a child abuse case in loughborough in the east midlands..

I think this was reported by the local BBC this time last year before this appeal failed. Anyone able to get this to them so it can have a chance of going up on their website?

OMG, My 18 Nephews & Nieces Are Such Creative Double Life JWs

to briefly state this: we were hardcore jws, my siblings, my wife and her two sisters.

we have 18 nieces and nephews among us from late 20's to 55. only one is a card-carrying, practicing jw and he's had his problems.. what's hilarious, is that most of the 18 in the next generation would still identify themselves as jws to the rest of the family, but all are leading double lives extraordinaire, doing exactly what they want to do.

most would be honest with me and have been.

I forgot how you were the poster who highlighted that the April 15th 2015 (WT study edition) has the "Why Disfellowshipping is a loving provision" article yet the April 15th simplified version misses it out completely. That was a good reminder of how sneaky these people are.

Can you tell us what day or item of the convention this Splane talk was and remind us where it was?

so there was a peak attendance of around 8700 (as i recall - i was dozing...).

baptism numbers - 24. so around 0.27%.

it may be slightly up or down on that depending on the actual attendance.. the majority of baptism candidates were young people so very likely born-in..

Compares almost exactly the same low % wise with the 10 out of 3600 at Exeter.

In the UK under 16 is illegal. And sometimes if there is a duty of care such as Teacher/Pupil etc then under 18 can have serious consequences.

i think we can say many of those laid off no longer trust the governing body because of being lied to repeatedly over so many things.

things are getting very explosive at the governing body's home location kind of ties right in with being moved to a seriously pcp contamined chemical dump site, in fact bad karma has come to rest where ever these stupid lying clowns go.

Sadly I think most reassignees will just suck it up and become regular faithful types. I mean they have wasted many years if not decades and are probably too old to have kids so they will hate to admit they have been fooled.

About half a dozen London ex-bethelites (aged late 30's through early fifties) landed in our circuit in the spring and the men are continuing as elders. I don't think there are any pioneering yet but they are probably scrabbling around getting work and accommodation sorted first.

No sign of rebellion at all. But there was a definite feel of comparative bewilderment and shock and dare I say apathy among those I have heard reports about. They haven't come out beating the zealousness drum for sure!
