I agree with K99's commentary.
It gels with my experience when I was an elder in being asked on several occasions "What am I allowed to have?" by different congregation members.
up until the very end, my mother refused blood.
it didn't matter if it was a blurred line or not, the bible says "no blood"!
i wonder if she was in the minority, in her thinking.

i've been disfellowshipped for six years, since i was 18. i struggle with depression and self-destructive habits (minor in comparison to the suicides, substance abuse, risky sexual behavior of others i've grown up with who have left or were too afraid to leave).
i'm fairly successful for my age - respected in my field, i have an extensive curriculum vitae of published writing, presentations, and other projects.
yet, i often feel worthless and unloveable.
You sound like you have done really well. If you were my daughter I'd be really proud of your achievements. You sound self-aware which is a great start. Well done!
Do you get regular exercise? Do you get lonely? Have you got any spare time?
Join groups that will help you as a by product of you helping others. Volunteer, get a small part time job that provides regular cash and makes you get out of your accommodation at set points in the week.
As and when your main vocation build up you can drop the part time work.

Carrie Fisher/Harrison Ford?

"The study edition will still exist won't it?"
'Fraid so.
in 1974 the society had changed there stance on shunning dis-fellowshipping people.
they said you could have limited association with those who were dis-fellowshipped.. what year did they change it back to the old way of shunning people?
.
About 1980 to self justify their treatment of Raymond Franz I believe.
i recently had to accompany an older family member out of state to a family reunion.
it was a big reunion and not much was overtly made of the fact that i am "misguided" and not attending meetings (lost soul that i am) which was nice.
the thing i noticed that i was most struck by was all the dietary quirks in evidence during our 3 days together.
As a broadbrush comment I find the more highly strung someone is the more likely they are to be high on the special dietary curve.
i went to see blade runner 2 because i liked the first one.
even tho the first one was i think rated r, i still saw it.
the whole atmosphere of the first one was bizarre and real to itself.. if you don't want to be spoiled, don't read on.. with high hopes, despite hearing that it tanked at the box office (are the critics crazy?

More a scene than a quotation.
At the end of Dead Poets Society after Mr. Keating (Robin Williams) is unjustly fired when the boys stand on their desks ...
Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke) "My Captain My Captain!"
i was thinking after hearing about the agm cutbacks to the mags and other website content surely they will end up dismissing more bethelites?
i would have thought in the old days, before the web, an artist or writer at bethel would have been a full time job making content for four 32 page mags a month.
now what are these guys going to do?.
They don't need branches for printing anymore but what about control and dollar collection and retention?
By having HQ in USA and bigger branches in Canada, UK and Germany they can move money around in stable currencies and themselves around in familiar surroundings if the heat is on and use some legal representation too.
South Africa, Mexico, Brazil and Australia can have small offices in out of town nice locations for admin/control (+GB vacation) purposes. If the legal financial heat gets too much in a country then close it down and move the lolly.
Countries and/or language groups with good revenue (France, Italy, Spain, Japan) can have a couple of offices in one of the bigger branches and someone with the title Branch coordinator for that country.
A Traveling Overseer with a flat attached to a Kingdom Hall could suffice in many countries as the sole branch representative - with his wife as secretary - assisted by a local flunky or two.
Oh and somewhere in the Caribbean which is a money haven with a nice climate too!
not to be overly harsh...but if you just left, what the hell were you thinking?
between 1995 and now, you never did an internet search of "jehovahs-witness" or "watchtower"?
good god.
Hi Ruby ... I was being at least somewhat tongue in cheek, but thanks.
Question for OP.
When did you leave, Sherlock?
