  i’ve always wanted a physical copy but those seem really hard to come by, and if you look online they’re super expensive.

  of course, as per other posters' recommendations, i could google this; i have and remain, not totally confused, but wanting the straight dope as well as nuanced meaning.

  i'm both curious and needing to know for purposes of editing works of american and british writers.

  Just to confuse ...

  Isle of Man, Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey etc.) are Crown Dependencies

  Gibralter, Falkland Islands, Ascension Island and St. Helena etc. are British Overseas Territories

  Scilly Isles, Isle of Wight, Lundy Island etc. are part of England and thus part of the UK

  Isle of Anglesey is part of Wales and thus part of the UK

  Isle of Skye is part of the Inner Hebrides which are a chain of islands which are a part of Scotland and thus part of the UK

  Rathlin Island is part of Northern Ireland and thus part of the UK

  That's enough Islands ...

  I don't think there is an all powerful "God" who takes any interest in mankinds affairs even such an entity exists at all.

  But ... I'm not dogmatic and I do believe there could have been a "god" (aliens?) who started a process of life and skedaddled a long time ago. Or maybe just that there has always been life somewhere in the Universe.
  

  The future ...

  Generally I think when we die then that is it. But if there is a slight chance of an afterlife somewhere I do not believe it is dependent upon worshipping "God" - and certainly not via 7 men in New York or any other religion.

  I don't think the organisation is going broke bob.

  And they may be "overhauling" - but it's still the same old turd working to preserve itself by being rolled in new glitter.

  The Europeans and Japanese are escaping. The Yanks and ANZACs are stagnant. Kingdom halls are going.

  The oldies listen obey - get depressed - and get older and die, the rest give their time and facebook pages but have less money and more are waking up.

  And Sophia is pressed for her ice cream money to keep Fat Tony in tailored suits to cover his ample frame.

  The institutional response to child abuse is a major factor helping people awaken.

  What to Do....Please Help. Awakening JW for a very long time

  good afternoon , .

  i have been having doubts for many years and as most jw's i have certainly not done myself a favor by suppressing all of my critical thinking.

  i am married with 3 kids and my wife and i are inactive, but my wife has made it very clear in speech and action that she wants to go to all meetings, field service, and indoctrinate our kids.

  I've seen more genuine care and "shepherding" on this thread than in over 25 years as an elder in dubland.

  I'm proud to be on this forum and I've learned so much.

  Hang in there Covertsad ... time is on your side if you can cope with it.

  i have been meeting with member's of the kingdom hall, and i have attended a few times now on sundays.

  i'd like to discuss experiences with this group since i'm new.

  Hi Matthew,

  Read Matthew 24 v 25 - 27

  Ask them why their leaders take a parable of Jesus, apply it to themselves and use it as a way of making all JW's comply with their rules and beliefs which can be changed as they decide. (often)

  Go to Wikipedia and look at Faithful and Discreet Slave.

  I was a jw for over 40 years and was a Presiding Overseer (Now called Co-ordinator of the Body of Elders.) I know my stuff.

  Others on here know more than me.
