I'm sure there were several factors. What do we "know" (as reported)?
1. There is a suicide note we are not privy to. Those that are privy to it do not deny that shunning may be a factor - but they may just have kept silent as per protocol. Will more be allowed out later?
2. Joyce Taylor - Lauren Stuart's "close friend" certainly believes shunning was a factor - to the extent she planned and had an accomplice record her at a Kingdom Hall just two days later (now - 23/2/2018 - on over 40K views BTW) - but maybe a personal axe to grind over this issue?
3. The latest New York Post says she (LS) was brought up in the JW's - so I wonder if her parents or siblings shun her? This would have more effect than the local bozos at Fumbuk Central Kingdom Hall.
4. Also mentioned was a personal problem? Did this tip her over the edge?
Other surmisations -
She might have been POMI to an extent.
There may be a record of mental health issues. (Obviously she was "nuts" to do what she did)
Image and appearance seems important. Not many 45 year-olds go for a "modelling career". What was she trying to do to make herself feel good? What insecurities rushed to the surface? Was it all about to come crashing down?
Tragic and sad.

Cart observations from Cardiff South Wales
by freddo ini was in a suburb of cardiff, capital of wales where it was difficult to get near to my customer's offices to deliver and install what i do.
i had my car parked about a hundred yards away and had to make several trips with goods and tools past a local jw trolley cart.
as i was working i didn't stop but observed much of the time from an upper floor office window.. in the hour or so i was there, on a warm sunny (for late february) lunchtime/early afternoon - right by a bus stop and several local shops, cafes and banks with plenty of people about - not one person stopped at the cart.. the two women at the cart i guess were about 50 and 75 respectively - pleasant looking motherly/grandmotherly types.

On my last trip to my car I briefly asked them what they were doing and they told me they were JW's and offered people a hope for the future and looked forward to a time when the earth would be a paradise. I didn't engage them much as time was short but I asked them if they "ever had any success at recruitment?".
They looked at each other and the older one said "Well ... not on this shift ... but we aim to be visible and direct people to our website so they can get answers to their questions."
I had to get going but just gave them a big grin and parting shot of: "Well by just standing here counting your time, I suppose you've earned yourselves an extra day of everlasting life haven't you ...?"
Our eyes met - the older lady's and mine - and she knew that I knew what much of JW'ism is all about and she looked at the floor. The younger woman avoided my gaze immediately.
I let them off the hook, went to my car, drove off and gave a cheery wave and toot on the horn. The younger lady half raised her hand but looked away ...

The ARC made me - finally - become truly PIMO, resign as an elder and face up to all the deceit and corruption in "the one true religion".

Zeb - the North Wales "fallout" problem from Chernobyl.
Now I'm no conspiracy theorist type but I have heard of the fallout from Chernobyl damaging a North Wales lake and that "Acid rain" causes the problem too.
HOWEVER.
There is a MAGNOX reactor built in 1965 and shut in 1991 there in Snowdonia ...

I am informed that moisture was discovered in the coolant circuit of reactor 1 of the Trawsfynydd nuclear power station on 25 June, when the reactor was being brought back to power after a grid disturbance had306W caused an automatic shutdown the previous day. The reactor was again shut down, and the moisture traced to a leaking boiler tube. The boiler affected has been isolated, and the moisture is being removed from the coolant circuit by circulating dry gas.
I understand that the Nuclear installations Inspectorate considers that there is no hazard to safety or health from the leak or the remedial action, and that there has been no incident of a nature which is required to be reported under the arrangements relating to nuclear installations.
I spoke personally in about 1998 with an "ex special services" bible study living in the area and he told me that they (his unit) were sent in to secure the perimeter "we were there for weeks" while mopping up teams cleared the mess. He wasn't a tinfoil hat wearing loon.
Rumours abound in North Wales of an incident in the late 70's/early 80's that was kept quiet by "Maggie Thatcher's government" and there are elevated cancer rates there in what to my mind should be one of the cleanest air parts of the UK.
It seems more likely to me that North Wales had its own significant nuclear leak (not minor as reported) rather than one thousands of miles to the east causing it. (Remember Wales has a very dominant westerly flow of wind off the Atlantic - including the jet stream)
