  Nice Old Dears Tried to "Witness" to me Today

  an older man and wife - ray and mary - got chatting to me today.

  they were tourists admiring local wildlife.

  i gave them a few tips on where to go to see some interesting things and it wasn't long before they were telling me about how awful the world is "nowadays" and paradise yadda yadda.

  so i knew quite a few co's but have lost contact as i moved abroad.. does anyone know where anton irons is now ... he was a great guy.

  If they ever talked sense in private, they would never talk sense with the D.O. in tow or in an elders meeting.

  However "nice" they seemed if you cut off their heads they would have "Society Direction" stamped on their neck.

  What William Penwell said. I was 13 in 1975. Unbaptised Publisher/Approved Associate.

  My Mother believed it with all her heart. My Dad, not so much.

  At least they didn't sell up and Dad give up his good job and pioneer like my mother wanted them to do.

  Has the Great Witness Trolley/Cart campaign produced ANY results?

  i live between two cities that are big enough to have their own metropolitan trolley cart arrangements organised at circuit level.

  the 3 congregations at the hall i attend have trolley schedule noticeboards.

  i see trolleys in the high streets and markets locally.

  Yet I've not seen one "bum on a seat" or bible study since this work has been going on.

  (I suspect all this "direct 'em to jaydubya-dot-org" is actually counterproductive - if you get to jaydubya past other anti-jw websites why would it impel you to have a study or go to meetings?)

  why won't they (the wbt$ head honchos), simply change policy on sex offenders?

  will they?..especially after the arc for eg?

  it seems that with all the bad press and now the arc among other institutions that are exposing the wbt$ for a haven for paedophiles, why hasn't the wbt$ simply changed it's insane policy?.

  My 67 Year Old Elder Brother Is Depressed Because The Younger Elders Are Taking Over

  he was the school overseer but they relieved him of that to allow younger elders the privilege of the job.

  now he is depressed and actually shed tears, believing his worth has diminished.

  Gotta agree with Vidiot.

  At 67 minimus's brother should be in Paradise looking like a 30 year old, petting Pandas and eating fruit with John the Baptist and swapping yarns with that resurrected pirate chappie whose hair gets shorter as he makes "progress" in reading the new scrolls churned out of War-wick.

  I have little sympathy really. Sorry.

  What woke you up?

  in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

  so what woke me up?

  an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.
