Well it would have already been dead by the time it got to the JW chef.

by cofty insainsbury's has been forced to apologise after its jehovah's witness chef refused to serve a customer black pudding with his full english breakfast.alan mackay was stunned when he was told he could not enjoy the staple, made up of animal fat, blood and oatmeal, with his meal at the branch in arnold, nottingham.after receiving his incomplete dish the former police officer was told the black pudding would not be served because it was against the religious beliefs of the chef to do so....

In the Old Testament couldn't the Israelites sell an unbled carcass to a non-Israelite unbeliever?

Facing mortality after leaving the witnesses
by truthseeker intell me i'm not overly thinking this.. i'm 39 years old...still youngish...but i worry about getting old.
i look in the mirror and it depresses me.
i suppose i still cling to watchtower utopia when no one would age over 25.. i used to look forward to paradise earth because it meant all the evil in the world, nuclear warfare, terrorist attacks and sickos would be no more, but we are deep in the 21st century with no end in sight.. appreciate your comments.

I've got mayonnaise in my fridge older than that!
If there's nothing you can do about it then why worry?

Pshycos! - 2016 "Remain Loyal to Jehovah" Regional Convention Program
by thedepressedsoul inwow this is interesting!
i think how much emphasis this puts on "loyalty" shows their is an issue.
they're trying to plug the wholes as much and quickly as possible.

2016 Memorial Done & Dusted
by steve2 inwell on this side of the planet, the southern hemisphere/ new zealand, the 2016 memorial service in local kingdom halls will be over for another year.
another great big anticlimax.
some family and relatives will have gone - but unless i ask my sister, i generally have no idea about attendance and partaker numbers.

Yep. That little dance where the servers (who have had the chance to quaff the cup and crunch the biscuit at the end of each row they pass "emblems to") serve each other.
And then the speaker who has handed the cups to all the servers and has them all handed back to him to put on the table then has his own little to and fro cup and plate handling opportunity from a server all by himself before putting them finally on the table.
Anyway, good news - our hall was down from 118 to 112 this year. A small decrease but a decrease nevertheless.

My Personal Invitation to the Celebration of the Lord's Evening Meal
by TMS inby no means is this a heartwarming "experience" illustrating how an ex-jw skillfully "reached the heart" of a current jw, moving them to re-examine their belief system.
that won't be my take on my half hour visit with an elder's wife last sunday.
no one scored points here as is almost always the case in these interactions.. we live at the extreme southern tip of texas, on the u.s.-mexico border in a city of about 200,000. twenty years ago there were 20 spanish language congregations, 2 english.

Trust me, her head will be spinning and what you said will "pop up" from time to time in the future. Whether her comfy well-ordered existence or her desire to see a dead loved one in paradise will be overcome by a crisis big enough for her to act at any time I don't know.
I've heard it all before but your take on the only innocent in the David and Bathsheba situation being killed by Jehovah touched me ...

Well I spilled it to the elders (elder)
by HowTheBibleWasCreated inan elder came over for a visit the other night (he couldn't get a partner) personally i consider him a friend and have revieiled many things to him an figured the tie has come to step out of this religion slowly.. well i finally told him i have no believe in the bible (other then the confirmed history in it) or god.
i did it slowly and tactfully and even non-agressive.. his response to learning i believe in evolution was that evolution doesn't happen now i respectfully disagreed and pointed out lactose and alcohol tolerance among the last thousand years as well as tibetian lung/hearts.
he refused to believe it.

If you're not ready to be df'd then be careful what you say; even alone to a lone second elder - actually, a lone second anybody - who will stand as a witness in a J/C against you.
One is enough!

Is everything that doesnt add ud explained as a vision, a parable or a "poem" ?
by Bolthof inhi.. i meet up with a couple of jw once a week and it seems to me that every time i show them a verse that says something that contradicts their doctrine they say that it is a parable, a vision.. or a poem of some sort.
what are your toughts about this ?.

Tell 'em the "faithful and discreet slave" is just a parable too. That'll get'em jumping.
