Hard to Remember but Back in the Ninteen Fifies...

i need some help.. does anyone remember when they used to get these charts out at the service meetings which had all the hours, "back calls" and bible studies on it?
what did they call that?.

I just remember the piano (no stories) and the skits lasted a bit longer - into the late 60's.
I vividly remember a reversible coat demo so that "when the persecution came" the sister could reverse the coat to a different colour in the ministry.
A "householder" with a rolling pin in her hand told the sister she would be reported to the police for "banned religious activity".
A brother in a UK policeman's helmet (where he got that from I don't know!) pretended to question her asking if she had seen a woman in a blue coat (which she had reversed to a brown coat) - and she coyly pleaded innocence and said she had seen someone down the next street (which of course was her with the coat reversed the other way.) and off he goes down the aisle blowing a whistle calling out "come on chaps we'll find her and lock her up!"
All hammed up and very English. As a kid I loved it.
Demo in public talks.
This was late 70's and a visiting speaker turned up with a young couple in tow who did a demo about not having paid their electricity bill and that the red letter reminder had arrived and so they immediately paid it and resolved never to do that again because we should pay our debts promptly on time!
Oh the guilt! They hammed it up like they had defrauded an old aged pensioner!

god's sevants in the past,who were instructed to assemble three times a year, we.
look forward to meeting together in large groups.soon they will be out in full force.

Jehovah's Witness Church Release Statement

That will work well in the UK at the local crematorium ... or even better, at the graveside!
When I gave a funeral talk I hardly used the outline - never mentioned Adam and Eve - and I believed that if the GB can have whole Watchtower articles to "eulogize them" then little sister faithful for 60 years can have a eulogy too!

Prince will Be Resurrected
by Wild_Thing ini'm sure prince has already been talked about to death on this site, but a jw family member just liked a video posted by a jw group on facebook that is an interview of prince about his conversion to jw.
it's the comments made by jws that this post is about.. prince was a great artist!
and the world has lost a musical genius in my opinion, but he lost me after he converted.

Actually Prince Charles may not be called Charles 3rd but may choose George 7th. (Not decided for sure yet) If so, William will still be William 5th and Baby Prince George will be George 8th.
Providing Armageddy doesn't wipe them all out of course.

Generation expiry date?
by pleaseresearch inhow long will it take for a jw to see that even the overlapping generation is wrong?.
the org waited and waited to see if their interpretation of it came true.
those alive in 1914 would still be alive obviously it didn't and jws have to believe in an overlapping generation.

Love the semi-accurate historical stuff like making a career as a house painter or moving to Munich where the need is great!
And the "overlapping congregation territories (Pedophile, Paradise and Overlap)" is priceless too.
