How do you look at different groups on facebook? Like how did you guys find them? Do I just enter key words into the search? I don't want to search jw's but maybe something else. I have facebook but I'm not to familiar with it.
I hate the line "let's search out who's deserving". Aren't all people on earth "deserving" of God's love? And how do THEY determine who's deserving?? Makes me sick. Sooooo glad I'm out!.............wf

swearing-foul language
by megaflower inas a good dub i never used any four letter words (i just thought them).
its not that way anymore.
if you no longer consider yourselve a witness do you swear, curse.

I don't swear. Just doesn't feel right even not being a jw. But it doesn't really bother me when other people do, except around kids. My 19 year old son is going through some 'swearing' stage and it turns me off. I just don't see the point. But if I stub my toe really, really hard then usually a few choice words come out!......wf

Twilight movies
by darnkid indoes anyone know exactly what the society has said on the twilight movies?
is it a matter of conscience or a real no-no?
my children are witnesses, i am df'd so i can't say anything, but one of them indulges in these movies and books-the baptized one who won't visit me or talk to me unless absolutely necessary.

I know if I were still in and being the jw I was, they would have been out in my house but of course we are not 'in' anymore. But I have a 13 year old daughter who is obsessed with the series (I am too actually). And I know of jw's who are into it but kind of on the sly. So IMHO, the society would say they were a no no. And although like mentioned above, there's to many things specifically to name from the platform, my bet is that because this Twilight thing is huge, that it will be specifically talked about one day if not already.........wf

Hi welcome! I have always found it interesting that the one's , like myself and obviously you, who studied the wt literature extensively are the one's who find what's wrong with it and leave! It's always something different for each of us. It wasn't a doctrinal thing for me as much as the lack of love and proof of God's spirit where they said it was suppose to be. But all my years of studying helped me to make a great defense about the doctrinal stuff when I needed to. I just walked away a year ago with my un-baptized kids. We have been so much better for it. Like you, in the beginning, I truly still felt like I believed in God, and Jesus as his son and everlasting life. But now, a year later, I think much differently. I'm more on an intuition and spirituality kick, reading the likes of Gregg Braden, Eckhart Tolle and Wayne Dyer. But I'll tell you, I've learned more about spirituality and how it really works, in the last year verses my whole life in the org! Spirituality is not based on a religion, it can be, but doesn't have to be. In my opinion, the farther you get from organized anything, the more you tap into real spirituality. You have a lot of growth but just remember, your where you are because you are suppose to be. It's all part of your journey. Embrace each part of it. Glad your here. I've learned soooooo much on this board and made some friends to!.......wf
