Hello Everyone -
This is the MOTHER of the boy in discussion. My daughter has already posted for you with her view.
I was in Indiana shortly after my ex-husband placed the obituary in the news paper. I was apalled by what
he did. This picture of our son was truly a display of his ill regard for our son's passing - so it seemed.
To many, it seems strange that the living would have the nerve to speak of or publish something like that
after the death of their child. It might have seemed a great reproach on our God to do such a thing. But is it?
Remeber, people react differently to any given situation. Even YOU. You don't know what another person went
through. It's called "Empathy" Have you heard of it?
I am a faithful Christian Servant of Jehovah. This is, of couse an apostate website. My fellow worshipers
need to understand that I found this comment through non believers, and felt it necessary to defend this
issue. This will be the first and last visit here. People will do anything to smear Jehovah's name, and the
reputation of his people in the mud. This comment will clear everyone once and for all.
My Son, David Barttrum had schizophrenia. A mental illness - often misunderstood as 'split personality
disorder'. Not so, it is a mental illness about hearing voices and sounds that aren't there, and where thought
processes are split off or connected wrong in the brain. This is the more mild description of the illness. There
is also the known 'paranoid' schizophrenia - "A BEAUTIFUL MIND" Our son didn't have that form.
Our son, David was also a jokester, a comic, a comedian of sorts, with an extremely happy disposition, a
jolly old soul, if you will. He liked to make faces and make people laugh. He loved to make people laugh. He
got that, of course from both of his parents, who have extremely happy personalities. It's no wonder, then
that someone captured this picture of him acting so silly. Whether you, the reader choose to accept it or not,
whether you believe in the resurrection or not is your own affair. We do, and therefore believe that our son
will return in the flesh to this earth with a smile of approval that his dad loved him enough to show the world
who he truly was. This was our Son, David, who we loved dearly. Our little 'puppy boy'. Our little 'cotton top'
boy. It wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed, you know. Our son had the priviledge of two more obits in addition
to the first one. How many people get that?* Not many. My son's dad putting that picture in the paper in now way
showed any lack of love for our son. Though he will have to answer for it when our son returns, only if it should
even be called to mind in the paradise. (Luke 23:43, Matthew 6:9, 10) But we feel David will be tickled pink that
we did that for him. There was absolutely no harm intended. You just have to KNOW the person!
* By the way, THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR SON A CELEBRITY!!!

Certainly not infamous either. Our son was an artist, a comedian, an intelligent
person. A very likeable guy.
