long story short: i threw a bday party for my newly faded hubby a few weeks ago.
well, one of the guests ran into hubby's jw father & said "yeah, it was great to hang out with ___________ @ his birthday party the other day!
" (to which the jw father later told us he acted totally cool and went along with it but was like .
btw - the pagan part was a joke. the leftover cake part - i was serious.

do you have any cake left? i like cake. (and it is not pagan if you eat it the day after the party)
i have read over and over that the false prophecies of the wts are really not false prophecies.
they where just folks who were over eager and were keeping oil in their lamps and so forth.
it occured to me today to wonder "eager for what?
in regards to the hope of hurrying up the Big A. i was at a bookstudy many years ago and the brother closing with prayer mentioned that he hoped the Big A (as it was referred to) would happen very soon so that everyone that was a JW would be moving toward the new system working toward perfection. after the prayer, one sister started crying. she told the brother in front of everyone that she could not agree to the prayer as her husband was not a worshiper of jehovah and she did not want him to die because he needed more time. that was a tough thing to hear. everyone just felt so bad for the poor sister. the brother apologized and made some lame excuse that jehovah reads hearts and if he really loves jehovah, he would be fine. the poor sister said that everything she has read in the magazines stated the opposite. that incident always stuck with me.
nothing irritates me more than after spending hours showing a dub exactly why they are wrong and why they are false prophets... rather than defend themselves on each subject they all seem to go back to the food at the proper time argument and stop thinking.
its like everything said is wiped clear.. .
anyhoo, i am now left to contest that argument... before i do, i would like to get some of your feedback on good ways to overcome their broken record answer..
depends on what the original arguement is about.
if you are talking about the flip flop issues of blood, and they claim "food at the proper time" - was it ok for people to die for refusing any treatment and God was ok with that, but now he says that it is ok to accept certain fractions and he doesnt want you to die? What was the logic to let those people die? if it i truely spirit directed, why did God not step in the first time and save those people or was that group doing something wrong or were they not worthy of saving and giving clear direction when it came to matters of life and death?
it's a good thing we changed our meeting schedule when we did.
restriction of this sort could have been used against us.
good that the governing body decided to make this change.
So when you think about the change in the bookstudy, and this has been talked about alot, it is all about money. The idea is that you go from one hour to half hour for the congregation book study. this in turn pushes twice as long to finish the book. although, the way the reading breaks down now i think it is getting stretched out longer. this aids in to places, number one, you save on printing. not as many books need printed. number two, you save in costs of having to actually put the work in to produce new books since it would be hard to have to sit through the revelation book for a fourth or fifth time.
hi everyone, just wondering if anyone that is or was df'd before has any experience with moving to a new congregation and having to meet with their old jc and a new jc at their new hall?.
a friend of mine who is df has been trying to get back in to reconnect with her family and is having a really hard time with the reinstatement process.
she has been attending meetings at the new congregation for about a year now and has asked the new jc to meet to discuss her reinstatement.
the holy spirit with the old jc may know something about the holy spirit of the new jc that is holding the new holy spirit back from directing the new jc with a correct decision. or the old jc holy spirit is doing something wrong that is making it give a bad decision to the old jc when in fact the new holy spirit has the correct info and is directing the new jc the correct way but it will be hard to overcome the ....wait, now i am confused, what was the question?
seriously, can anyone else see the issue as plain as day?
well, glad to see my comment makes sense to the thread. i know i saw something different earlier. guess that will teach me to drink whiskey and type
with all the fake field service time...i am sure they will get it done
stay awhile and check the site out.
i have learned so much that for years has been hidden.
i always knew something was wrong but could not figure it out.
the other big issue for me is this. how can you belong to an organization that preaches that they have love like no one else, yet many of the people are treated so poorly in the congregation. if you have questions or doubts, why can you not ask? you are treated harshly for even considering such things. consider the july awake, is it ok to change your religion article. this article is to be presented to people to convince them that it is ok to look into another religion and examine it. yet, if a jw does that, you can bet that you will be severly disciplined. very hypocritical. and before someone argues that once you found the "truth", you should not need look. how do you know it is the 'truth" if you dont compare it
