Beard stories. Nothing but beards.
by Open mind ini've done a jwn search on beards and had some great reads.. i've learned the history of russell vs. rutherford and knorr and the hippies.. here's what i'd like to hear about.. either you or someone you know who grew a beard and the fallout because of it.. for me, i'd love to hear about the squeaky clean elder who decided to grow a beard and got removed because of it.. katie kitten, from england, on another thread told the story of her dad, the squeaky clean elder who grew a beard in the 70's and got away with it.. i don't think that would happen in california 2009.. anyway, what are your beard stories?.
i'm all ears.
(and my ears are freshly plucked.

I know a married brother who showed up for service with a go-T (sorry didn't know how to spell but hope you all know what I mean) and he got pulled into the hotbox (back room) and told he could not go out in service.......I know that really had an impact on this couple as they are pretty much inactive right now. It really hurt the wife alot as she really believed that the elders were "loving".......

My Story
by ~Jen~ ini was raised a jw by very strict parents who, in my early teen years were physically and then later emotionally abusive all the while with my dad being and elder (and he still is).
i didn't want to be a jw then but my life was all about making my parents happy which started with me being baptized at 13. my parents constantly drilled into my head that most things were "bad" and i was "bad" i constantly did whatever i could to avoid being bad.
i had no life but then met a nice jw boy when i was 17. against my better judgement, i stayed with him and married him when i was 20. i didn't have a lot in common with him but he was really nice and was safe - he was a witness and even though i wanted to be in the world so bad i chose to be with him because he would keep me grounded, in the truth and away from where i really wanted to be because it was the right thing to do.. we were married for 7 years and have 3 sons.. for the past few years i've known that i did not want to be a jw even more and was sick of being fake.

The toll on women..
by freedomisntfree inthis has probably already been discussed to some degree on here.
but i think its probably a commonly noticed thing that jehovahs witness women and becoming more and more unstable mentally and physically as a whole.
they seem to suffer from a bizzarely high percentage of scent sensitivities, chronis fatigue syndrome and the like.are they making it up for attention?

Not surprising since they are constantly stereotyped and reminded of "their place"........The first time I attended a kingdom hall I was 12/13 years old and I remember thinking something just wasn't right......I often wonder now as an adult woman how my mom could've been soooo attracted to a religion that constantly demeans women.......How can one be happy when they are told they are "weak" and not strong enough to handle "real responsibility" and to be in "subjection" even if you don't agree.......Makes complete sense to me!!!

Huge development concerning Watchtower.org and "apostate" comments.
by DT inwouldn't you love to comment on the watchtower.org site so that other visitors can see what you think about their doctrinal flip flops, false prophecies and dangerous medical practices?.
it's no surprise that watchtower.org doesn't allow comments.
they know that "apostates" would point out the embarrassing details about their religion and history.

Don't feed into Renaai's hands. If you come back at her with a legitimate point she will say "apostates are aggressive" and if she knows your right then she will just ignore you......So just ignore her comments. As a matter of fact when I see she has posted something I automatically skip over it. She is just another brainwashed pathetic person thinking she has the "truth" Hey she is probably counting her time when she posts on this site!!!!

If Worldly people stop donating blood Witnesses wouldn't have any "fractions" to use!
by Witness 007 ingreatest religious hypocracy ever.....witnesses would be disfellowshiped for donating blood.....but can use fractions kindly donated by "worldly" people so witnesses can heal!
they condemn the blood banks as greedy, corupt, unsafe institutions.....yet they use them!.
