Imputation is the concept that we are all sinners because of the original sin of Adam. And our only redemption is found in the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross/Stake. Imputation implies that guilt passes from person to person from generation to generation, and redemption is passed from Christ to us. We are denied an afterlife in heaven or immortality on earth because of the sins of our fathers (not to mention the fact that the rules are set up so that being without sin is impossible for any human). We cannot attain salvation on our own. Nothing we do directly can save us from hell or a second death etc... We can obtain salvation only through faith in another. . No action we took on our own condemned us, and no action we can take on our own can save us.
The concept defies all reason. It makes no sense at all. But without original sin and redemption, there is no Christianity. You can never be perfect/good enough to get into heaven or live forever. You have to unconditionally accept what someone else claimed when they wrote it down a couple of millennia ago. Imputation is Christianity's centre of gravity. Without the concept, the house of cards all falls down.
You really don't have to criticize anything else in the entire Bible. Deciding to not accept the imputation of original sin and redemption refutes Christianity in its entirely.

After reading the artical (in Washinton Post), and then having a closer look at the whole PROP 8 issuse... I AM ANGRY!!!!!!!
This is what happens when "religion' gets invovled with matters of the state! WTF are they afraid will happen if same sex couples are legally allowed to marry? Wont all the extra hen's nights and buck's parties help boost the USA economy? Wont all the extra spending on weddings and honeymoons help boost the USA economy? Wont couples from all over the world visiting the USA to get married and spend their money there help boost the economy? Why waste so much money desciding on something that should not even be an issue?

Believe what you want in your own home- DONT COME TO WORK PREACHING IT! has anyone ever wondered why Revealed Religions are being discriminated against as a whole? Hmmn let me see- Most groups like to picket and rant and rave on the streets, some groups come knocking on your door to preach, others gain control of government bodies and try to convert the rest of the world and when thats not possible- wage a holy war (it's Ok to kill if it's for our cause mentality!).
Religion has caused more deaths than AIDS/CANCER! personally I'd rather hire an athiest too!- at least they are less likely to blow up my business or try to convert me into a cult!

Monthly Reports on studies???
by Lillith26 inok, so i've been doing my homework on the average practices of your reg pioneer and am trying to find out exactly how much of my personal information was "reported" by my ex-study friend, and exactly where it went and why they didn't ask for my permission first!
now i do get that who ever i was studing with/being converted by, would need to know my adress in order to get my place (as an avon rep a few years ago i kept a list of my clients details to deliver their items) and would likely keep a list of a few questions i had to better prepare for the next discussion we have, but why would it be necessary to pass my "private" information on to and elder and then on again to somewhere else from there every week/month?????.
i have seen a 'blank' version of these report cards (ministrygallery.com) and yeah iam somewhat pissed off!!!

REMARK: Although "study" is attending regular service meetings, I have some concerns about "study's" 'loose conduct' being that "study" is not yet married and still regularly enjoying the company of "anti-borg".
REMARK: "study" is progressing well, we have almost completed the "how to sucker you in then keep your ass" book.
REMARK: I dont know WTF happened! "study" was doing so well and has just terminated the homestudy and wishes to longer be associated with BORG! "study" should be avoided as I fear SATAN had a hand in this! "STUDY" IS AN APOSTATE- RUN AWAY AND TOUCH NOTHING UNCLEAN!!!!!!

I still think the idea of being "reported on" is just plain rude! and even though this practise my have stopped in 07- doesnt make it right does it??? Makes you wonder what was written about you???

I had at this point never spoken to or met them before- one even asked "so where are your children today?"- before I even mentioned I was a mother! please explain???

Even though I was never baptized and not raised as a JW, I still have morals and respect other peoples privacy! I dont go and visit a friend to have a study and then give a detailed report to my cong elder listing my friends name/ age/address/sexual preference/marital status/No of children and their details/No of pets etc.... and be rude enough to remark on what was spoken about (isn't that gossiping? the little Biatch may as well have just sat a voice recorder on my kitchen table, and then taken a few snap shots of 'us' worldlys on the way out!).
Come on all you "still in the BORG members" in here... fess up! Why are all the secret docs/reports being done on 'studies' ??? are we just a test subjects in your JoHo Lab?? do you get a kick out of reading about peoples private lives and affairs??
