talesin,
He is not a Schnauzer, he is a Miniature Pinscher, and not "bitey" at all. A red one.

This is the ongoing story of Rusty, my version of "mans best friend."
I got him from the pound a year and a half ago. As all dogs available there are, he was neutered when I got him. As I posted earlier, I caught him mating with a neighborhood Pomeranian a week or so ago. Well, last night she came over for another visit, but I stopped them before the act. It is rare, but some neutered males still can function like that.
It is winter here, and cold at times. My mother wants to make sure he doesn't get cold, so she insists on putting her old dogs sweater on him. He hates it, as it is not very manly. This picture cracks me up. I thought you guys and gals might enjoy it.

a couple of days ago i went to the funeral of an old age brother in his 80s.. well, that was the typical jw funeral although his daughter and the rest of his family are not witnesses.
as you know the brothers don't wear black clothes nor they show lot of sadness as a "prove" they believe in resurrection.. the problem this time is some of them went too far.
two sisters had red clothing and at the entrance a group of brothers were literally laughing.

In this way and by godly conduct, we contribute to sanctification of Jehovah's name (Prov.
27:11)
Resurrection hope an incentive to learn and do divine will(l Cor. 15:58)
(Note: Instead of eulogizing the deceased, use the material in this outline to give a
fine witness concerning the truth. Good balance should be observed in this regard.
Doctrinal points can be presented as beliefs of the deceased, which served as
motivation for him. Purpose of talk is to uphold Jehovah God as a God of love and
mercy and at the same time bring comfort to the bereaved. Use of a song such as No. 102
(53) or 187 (93) is optional. A brief prayer at the close is fitting. When arrangement is
made to go to the grave, it is well to consider quite briefly the hope through the
Kingdom, reading one or two scriptures, such as Job 14:14, 15 and 1 Corinthians 15:5413-
57. This service may also be closed with prayer, thanking Jehovah for the resurrection hope,
which is of great comfort. The talk need not exceed 30 minutes.)

this from my issue of time that arrived today: "'when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father, who is unseen.
' this passage from the gospel of matthew was quoted by many readers who object to tim tebow's showy displays of his faith on the football field ... " "hey tebowers," wrote bill de armond of winfikeld, kans.
"what part of matthew 6:5-8 do you not understand?".
There is no Tebowing in Muddville, Mighty Tebow has struck out.
Little Jesus got crucified tonight.

in the immortal words of fz, some things haven't changed.. i used to have a job.
an' i was doin' fairly well.
depression came along.
In the immortal words of FZ, some things haven't changed.
I used to have a job
An' I was doin' fairly well
Depression came along
An' everybody start to yell
"Where'd they go, them good ol' days,
An' all that crap we used to sell?"
Now I'm in Hot-Plate Heaven,
at the Green Hotel
Republicans is fine,
If you're a multi-millionaire
Democrats is fair,
If all you own is what you wear
Neither of 'em's REALLY right,
'Cause neither of 'em CARE
'Bout that Hot-Plate Heaven,
'Cause they ain't been there
They really oughta go
'N find out how the hall-way smell --
They'd benefit to know
'Bout what the bums in there could tell
(I guess we're only dreamin',
But I s'pose it's just as well
That's ALL you get to dream
Up in the Green Hotel)
Nature didn't put me here,
An' neither did my fate --
It musta been some evil ol'
Republican candidate!
He's over there in Washington,
But I wish he was in HELL
'Cause I'm in Hot-Plate Heaven
At the Green Hotel
Things is slightly better now;
They hope we will forget
The misery of 'TRICKLE DOWN',
An' jelly-bean etiquette
The Regal Presidential Style
Has simply not worn well,
But neither has my rags,
Up in the Green Hotel
I said the Green Hotel
I mean the Green Hotel
Been there once
The Green Hotel
We're goin' again
The Green Hotel
Neither has my rags,
Up in the Green Hotel
Hey, pass me the dog-food!

after having been raised in the jehovah's witnesses for 44 years ( getting out 6 years ago ) i have now come to peace with my view of what i personally feel about the existence of god , or no god, or whatever is flying around up there in outer space.
i am basically agnostic for sure / perhaps leaning atheist and i've come to that decision based on the years and years of unfulfilled false promises of being in a mind control cult ( jehovah's witnesses ) claiming to represent an alleged " god " or " jehovah " saying there would be a paradise, and armageddon to destroy 99% of the earths population.
also- i enjoy helping others without thought of being rewarded for it.
I am an apathist. I don't give a shit about religion or God.

life's like a mayonnaise soda .
and life's like space without room .
and life's like bacon and ice cream .
Life's like a mayonnaise soda
And life's like space without room
And life's like bacon and ice cream
That's what life's like without you
Life's like forever becoming
But life's forever dealing in hurt
Now life's like death without living
That's what life's like without you
Life's like Sanskrit read to a pony
I see you in my mind's eye strangling on your tongue
What good is knowing such devotion
I've been around - I know what makes things run
What good is seeing eye chocolate
What good's a computerized nose
And what good was cancer in April
Why no good - no good at all
What good's a war without killing
What good is rain that falls up
What good's a disease that won't hurt you
Why no good, I guess, no good at all
What good are these thoughts that I'm thinking
It must be better not to be thinking at all
A styrofoam lover with emotions of concrete
No not much, not much at all
What's good is life without living
What good's this lion that barks
You loved a life others throw away nightly
It's not fair, not fair at all
What's good ?
Not much at all
What's good ?
Life's good -
But not fair at all
