The WT would be wise to exploit this once in a millenium opportunity. If Bro. Prince dies refusing a blood tranfusion he can become the new Messiah. They could publish a Watchtower article saying the end will not come till Bro. Prince (who we found out was annoited) takes the Axe of the Holiness and defeats Satan in an epic guitar battle in the clouds. They could then have the psychic Jon Edwards re-write the bible in a druken stupor. After which they can spin ancient prophies orginally written about events that happend 3,000 years ago into applying to current times. Come on the WT can milk this for another 400 years if they milk this right. Jehoobah knew he'd turn into the saviour that's why he named him Prince!

If only Brutha Prince would have come to know Jehovah earlier he could have been spaired from all of this. He would have learned that all of that hump, and bumping and meaningless fornicating was really him bringing on God's Jehovah's judgment of old man worn out hips on this soul as punishment. I guess the sisters have one more thing to look forward to in the new system: Prince with some fresh hips! Watchout!

Calling off Your Wedding Engagement

in judgerutherfords thread (welcome, btw), he made mention on how he called off his engagement with his girlfriend.

i was always told that calling off your engagement was a big deal, and highly frowned upon in the org.

was this true in your part of the world, or was this just a local thing?.

How Many Here Text? Anyone Text While Driving?

i can't believe how many text while driving.

i am not opposed to talking to in the car but texting, to me, is much more problematic..

I am bad about texting every woman in my phone book (including MOM) how much I love her at 3am everytime I get drunk. Anyone else have that problem. I have to make my friends promise to take my phone and not return it till the next day.

i think someone else mentioned this before, but i am interested in providing some practical help to those on this board.

many of you have helped me, and i see a lot of good will on here.. some here seem to need to move to another congregation to "fade.

Bonafide, don't get too worked up. I don't think anyone meant any harm there are some unique personalities on here, mine included. I think AllTimeJeff sums it up pretty good in the previous post. Personally, I believe you are who you say you are and I think you had the best intentions. I pulled a fade just like what you mentioned dearly a decade ago and I never got so much a phone call. I moved from out of state with my family and my card was sent with theirs. I knew if I ever showed up at the new hall to introduce myself I was toast. I never went and just moved out and never was DA's or DF'd. I am postive my card is lost or at the bottom of a pile where no one would know who I am as my family has moved to another state again.

sitting down to whatever is dished up in front of you and eating it.

it requires very little brain power or imagination.

you just shovel in the food, burp, pat your tummy and no matter what it is you've eaten think it's a great meal.. being a free thinker is like a chef, the one who gets to construct the meal, thought is required, knowledge of what works together is required, a desire to cook the meal, imaginiation.. .

It's almost like facing an abuser or something. (Please forgive that analogy, any who have been abused).

No Forgiveness needed Beks, you were abused as we all were that believed at one point. It's called Spiritual Abuse and its something that takes a lot to get over. It's why most X-JW's cringe at anything religious around them after they leave getting the "sick-in-the-stomach-some-one-is-being-a-self-righteous-jerk" feeling. It's because not only did they abuse us on the inside but they poisioned us against being spiritual on the outside with out the WT. Frigg'n A**holes, you should have kicked that CO's ass.

You are F*ck'n kidding me right? I think you are pretty sincere about most of the things you say but the JW's don't worship God or believe in Christ. Most of their beliefs are based on twisting prophecies from the Old Testament that were already fulfilled and some how compiling that with flawed logic and out of context verse with the New Testament. I feel sorry for you Reniaa that you can't see how confused your mind is. It is like an alzheimer's patient losing grasp so it reaches back into the past and does anything it can to connect the dots. You're like my Grandpa who forgot he went to the grocery store and it's 1990 so his brain finds an Asian man's face in the crowd and computes that it must me 1945 and he is Okinawa again. You need to get professional deprogramming.

Really what do we have to win by changing you or any other JW's mind? We get no service hours, no points with the Service Overseer for it. We are just being people and trying to be nice and supportive. Furthermore why do you come here? I have the answer, If you aren't crazy its your need to feel important. Sex and the need to feel important are the two biggest motivators in human nature. You come here thinking you are dodging spiritual attacks from apostates and coming out on top. It makes you feel important like our mission is to convert you. Truth (there's a scary word eh) is it doesn't matter what you do. We don't need you to change to belive what we know, but you need us to be who you think we are (worldy, evil, etc) in order for you to believe the Watchtower is the truth.

Very confused-help please

just found this board late last night and can't stop reading, it's fascinating.. let me give you a quick background of myself.

i was born a jw, never baptized, was labeled bad association when i was 12 due to having all worldy friends and smoking, lol.

i was very confused how being that young i could be labelled as that but i was.

If you believe in Christ then I would say a simple prayer to God asking forgivness and confessing Jesus as your saviour. After that go to a different church every week (especially non-denominationals) until you find one that fits. JW's take adavantge of your vulnerability and will offer you answers that will not yield any real truth. Are you looking for faith or looking for answers? If it is faith that is something that you will only get by learning to lean on God and asking him like a Child for what you want. Good luck, and sorry to hear about your Grandmother.
