I haven't joined a new religion because they're all full of copious amounts of bullshit.

What religion do X-JWs belong to now?
by jonathan dough ini get the feeling many x-jws are floating about aimlessly and don't join christendom, still living with the jw indoctrinated belief that they are all the work of the devil.
does that make sense?
are they supposed to sit around in small groups in their living rooms reading scripture like ray franz recommended in crisis of conscience?

Yeah, I'm probably going to see it sometime this week.
I've been debating whether I should wear a wizards robe to the theatre or not.

"Bible Students"
by Megachusen ini recently came across this bible student forum about evolution: http://www.biblestudents.net/forum/index.php?board=58.0.
for those who don't know, the bible students are the result off a schism sometime before 1930 that broke the religion into two parts.. after reading that forum i'm pretty sure that they're just jw's without the governing body.. .
so what's your opinion of them?.

Does God Exist - Six Reasons to Believe
by Megachusen ini ussualy find this kind of stuff hilarious.
this time was no different.. enter "does god exist - six reasons to believe" (link for all of those interested: http://www.everystudent.com/features/isthere.html?gclid=ci_bgzvimzscframdqodxcnmoa) written by a self proclamed "ex-atheist" who has obviously been cured of the crippeling disability known as "rationality''-- no doubt by a little taste of god's delicious magic pixie dust.. since i have a certain threshold of tolerance for stupidity, i'm only going to comment on the subheadings for each point rather than the text underneath.. 1. does god exist?
the complexity of our planet points to a deliberate designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today.sure it does, buddy.

1. Does God exist? The complexity of our planet points to a deliberate Designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today.
Sure it does, buddy. It's too bad that we don't have any scientific models to explain how the earth formed on its own. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planetary_formation) OH SHIT. Well what about the fact that it's so perfect for life? Hint: The planet wasn't designed around us. We were designed around it. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blind_Watchmaker)
"a deliberate Designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today".
Oh, yeah. You mean by the giant life support system that the earth is plugged into from outer space.
2. Does God exist? The universe had a start - what caused it?
Obviously it was a magical being controlling all matter, time, and energy. The easiest answer is always the right one, right? It's just too bad we still can't convince those damned scientists of that fact.
For whatever reason, I'm pretty sure that the magical creature looks like this:
3. Does God exist? The universe operates by uniform laws of nature. Why does it?
I'm going to guess that the standard scientific answer of "we're not sure yet" or "we're still working on the answer" isn't going to cut it for you, is it?
Nope. You've obviously got the right answer which is, hilariously enough, the answer for all of your other questions: "God done it".
4. Does God exist? The DNA code informs, programs a cell's behavior.
The writer might as well have said: "I DON'T KNOW HOW DNA COULD'VE FORMED ON ITS OWN. THEREFORE, GOD DONE IT."
Fortunately for the humans who don't explain things with unproven assumptions, we actually do have proposed models for DNA evolution. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_of_DNA)
5. Does God exist? We know God exists because he pursues us. He is constantly initiating and seeking for us to come to him.
God is apparently a creepy stalker.
I was wrong. He probably looks like this:
6. Does God exist? Unlike any other revelation of God, Jesus Christ is the clearest, most specific picture of God revealing himself to us.

What would it take for you to conclude that the WBTS is not God's channel?
by Mickey mouse ini wondered if you could answer this question for me?
you seem to be fine with the fact that they are false prophets, that they have changed the bible and that they have entered into an agreement to "uphold the aims of the un".. what is the deal breaker for you?.
i suspect that there isn't one, and that is not a reasonable position.. please tell me there is something they could do that would make you question their legitamacy?.

I'm so tired of these biblical circle jerks. I refuse to respect anyone who, after being exposed to the monumental evidence against the bible(and all other holy books for that matter), refuses to reject all of this superstitious nonsence for what it is.
These people are still living 2,000 years ago. Look at Reniaa's terminology -- she refers to governments as "Caesar". You know who else does that? Other Christian sects who have refused to enter the 21st century, that's who. I've got bad news for you, Reniaa: the Caesars haven't been in charge of Rome for a while. In fact, the last time they were in charge they welcomed the new fast growing cult of Christians with open arms and spread legs. It's unfortunate that they repayed the favor by destroying many of Rome's libraries because they thought that the scienctific knowledge held within was from Satan, thus sending Humanity into 1,000 years of darkness. Aparently, some things never change. I'm tired of fighting your stupidity. It's 2009. Get fucking used to it.

The fatal flaw in his reasoning is that he has forgotten that the org has the potential to grow past 10 million by 2017.
He says that it's a numbers game and that all he needs is a bigger force to win. Unfortunately, the odds of the JWs staying at 7 million for 8 years is rather slim.
