I feel like calling Randy and asking permission to make up a few hundred Freemind.org shirts and go around the city, stopping at each JW setup and give the shirts out to people that approach the JW's. Would be a excellent counter-witness

@sd-7 "free" to go in their prison unless....you have a get out of jail free card. I don't know the legal rights for doing that outside a government building but I take it that if that's a go.....all the city and the county places as well also. Imagine going to Jury Duty and seeing that JW setup.....

Damn.....that Vid sounds like some straight Bull Shit!! Sounds like it's after that drama they had about 4 years ago. The JW got a job, moved out and stayed with a fellow JW "friend". He got in some trouble after going out. Instead of there being a designated driver....he let his friend drive intoxicated and they end up crashing and going to jail for a DUI. Story is similar.

@Disillusioned Lost Lamb I did remember seeing a young Female JW and she didn't look too happy. It does suck being at that desk on a Wednesday afternoon.

just now reading the comments LOL. I wasn't there for long, thanks to their new kiosk for quick registration renewals. @Wha Happened? Yes it's the Culver City one. I probably should have complained or at least made a bad comment about them. There WAS a FEW people talking to them. They were setup outside, not too far from the entrance. I wish I had one of those stank bomb pills to throw a few around their table LOL

So, Whats the real reason JWs are no concessions open at the DC and are discouraged from supporting nearby vendors?
by BU2B inso ever since they discontinues the food service at the assemblies and dcs, jws have been "lovingly encouraged" to pack a light lunch to eat.
the secretary at the hall that i am held hostage in said during the service meeting that even a sub would be too heavy to eat, and that a light salad was the best option.
what do you fine people think is the real reason why, in the absence of food service, jws are told to not leave the building at lunch?

I don't know either LostGeneration. Might have been a act to "discourage" from getting too many OJ's. Another thing.....the turkey sandwichs used to be hammered with mayo. I hated them for that reason

"Even 20 years ago that wasn't much. ... Oh and the Cheese danish in the AM, damn those were good. Maybe if they brought that shit back I'd become an JW again.........NOT!" LostGeneration
Man you had me rolling LMAO! Damn, I remember those Sara Lee Cheese Danishes too! I was soo HAPPY to get to the DC's and CA's in the morning JUST for those Danishes. The cheese danish and those ice cold and partially frozen orange juices made my day. Come to think of it, that was the ONLY reason I like going as a kid. Oh.....maybe the Ice Cream too that was thru the soft serve machine at the Woodland Hills assembly hall. I think I was one of the main reasons they stop serving food. I use to abuse the food provision LOL. About 3 cheese danishes and maybe a apple one also. Then for lunch.....A chicken sandwich, pudding, and those Shasta sodas. LOL those were the days. I might come back as a JW just for that......but leave and go to my car for a nap before each program!

I recently got hired finally, by a small Pest Control company. Well on my first day I rode along with a guy to train and he strikes up a convo about him and his wife being Christians. He asked me if I go to church and I tell him about my background as a former Witness. Surprises me, when he tells me that his father is a JW and he was raised in the borg until he was 16. He said that his parents had split and he lived with his mom shortly after. She then started taking him to church. Great for him LOL, since he never got baptized and has lived a normal life. Well.....fast forward to today, when I was talking to the co-owner after getting some supplies for work. He asked me about customer service for the job and if I felt comfortable talking to people. I told him that I had no problem, since I've done sales for a short time, worked at a hotel dealing with guests, and (with tongue in cheek) I am a former Jehovah's Witness. As soon as I said that....his eyes lit up! He started asking a BUNCH of questions about my status as a JW. I started to worry if he was one, because he asked me if I was inactive. A Oh shit moment. I was thinking I screwed up with too much info. Well....WHAT A SIGH OF RELIEF when he told me that HIS wife was a JW and that he had stop going to meetings himself. He said that his wife had pressured him to go for a few years and he couldn't do it anymore. She was raised a JW and married him after she left the borg for a while. She went back to the borg after her sister had died and she became "really spiritual". Fortunately for him, he wasn't baptized and he could still have a good relationship with his wife. He said that he didn't believe in a lot of things that the JW did. I told him about some of things that made me stop going. I mentioned the Conti case and this website. He was surprised and seem eager to know more. I'll give a update in a little while
