Me and my Chance,( now 9) actually went thru PTSD, over the whole ordeal, about the time he was 3 yrs old , when all the surgeries were over and he was out of the woods.
I'm soooo glad it all was okay for ya!! It's one of the greatest tragedies when children's lives are cut short

I'm one of those people. It would tear me up if my husband or boyfriend were having sex with prostitutes. I was in Rosarito once and a friend of mine brought a mexican hooker to our room that we were sharing when he thought I was asleep. It was creepy and really really bothered me. I've heard reports that an estimated 1in 3 men will be with a prostitute in their life time. That worries me, because I know alot of men.

He'd have my vote :) Just kidding. I think alot of 16yr olds are smarter regarding politics than some adults. They are in school and goverment is fresher in their minds. 16 year olds can drive a car, why then can they not vote on issues which will affect how much they pay in gas money or for the taxes on their cars.

Sassy: when I wrote this, I didnt know what to expect from her. I was in emotional distress the days leading up to me actually being able to give it to her. I had my best friend read it, she cried. I re-read it many times and cried. It was a very very difficult thing to do. But there was soooo much unfinished business between her and I, I had to get some closuer. Either it would end everything between us for good, or open the door to mend our relationship. Thankfully it was the latter. I dont think ANY monther WANTS to disown their children. For me it pretty much closed that chapter regarding the JWs, and I was Finally able to move on with my life. You're a courageous lady. You'll do what's right for you, in teh right time. *muah*
mothers day can bring up many issues for some of us.
for some their mothers have passed away and the opportunity to say i love you in person is forever lost.
for others our mothers are lost to the borg.
Alll you all have shared some very beautiful thoughts. A mother is the single most influential person in your life at and early age, and hopefully, if you're lucky in to your adulthood. All of your post make me want to be the Best Mother who ever lived. Even if it is just as a fill in mum to Spencer.
As regards my mother, I resented her growing up, but I am so much like her now as an adult I have no choice but to respect her. She is an epitome of a "good woman." She taught me everything there is to know about running a house. I know how to wash 3 loads of laundry with a teaspoon of dish soap, or which grocery stores offer the best coupon deals. I learned about giving more of yourself to others than you get back most of the time. And what the perfect combinations of soup, juice, and tylenol are to make you feel better fast.

Thank you guys, for your kind comments. I'm sorry I missed them earlier. The recent thread about writing to your mothers on Mother's Day brought me back here to reflect. Your words mean alot to me. (that's me keeping my eayes from watering up)
