Damage control
by Gig ini could spend many of your minutes describing how helpful this forum has been for me, suffice it to say that it's the way things should be...offer an idea and everybody else have opportunity to put it on the table too, pro or con.
my opinion is that jw's haven't realized (or have been denied) the benefits of such an appropriate arrangement that also provides the best method for discovery and growth.. my offering today is prompted by what i've found to be a recurring theme here...one that never fails to bother me.
as many witnesses "get out", too often (for me) they along with now rejecting the wts, reject many of the good things the wts tried, however horribly, to represent.

thanks for this post. I needed to hear that. I have rejected anything and everything remotely related to the jWs and religion in general. Sometimes it just isn't enough to be a good person I'm finding

Herbal Smokes - are they okay?
by Beck_Melbourne inthey look like ciggies, they even taste like ciggies, but they smell like horse poop.
hell i don't care...they'll do me.. i've been off smokes for 2 years...but had a terrible craving (stress related) and so i surrendered to the craving and had a few drags of a peter jackson number 8...then i had another...and another.
i had some crazy thoughts about buying a packet.

I say if you have a craving, give in. Just a bit. I used to be a heavy smoker. Like almost 2 packs a day. I didn't have a desire to quit, though the habit was grossing me out. I admit I'm addicted. But rather than deny myself and stress about that, i simply cut back to something more reasonable. I now smoke about a a pack a work week and one pack over the course of a friday, saturday, sunday weekend. One of these days I'll want to give it up completely I'm sure, but for now I'm okay.
But I agree with TH enhaling ANY kind of smoke, natural or otherwise, is not healthy

ARTIST (Dominant Introvert Abstract Feeler )
CHEVYLike just 4% of the population you are an ARTIST (DIAF)--creative, adventurous, and deep. Although you are an introvert, your dominant ideas lead you to assert yourself often--especially through your work. You actively put your creativity to constructive use, and because you are ruled by your heart you are less likely to be inhibited by logic. ( NOT TRUE )
You have an intuitive understanding of emotion and know how evoke it in others, but the real world can be a prison of foolishness and embarrassment if you don't get your head out of the clouds a little more. Also, you are 87% likely to write poetry. Please, for the love of God, stop now. HAVEN'T WRITTEN "POETRY" IN ALMOST 6 YEARSP.S. WOMEN ARE MORE LIKELY TO HAVE VOTED FOR SHAKESPEARE. I VOTED FOR EINSTEIN.
AND I'M DEFFINENTLY NOT INTROVERTED EITHER

Yeah Laura!!! Finally some positive news, and a great story! I don't know you, but I am so very happy for you. Your engagement story sounds very similar to my own. I long to have a relationship like you do now. Who doesn't love "singing int he rain." (though don't tell anyone I told you that) :)
Welcome. I can't wait to hear more from you.

One that I had been told and believed was that the glue on stamps and envelopes contained blood by products. That month we all went out and bought little sponges to use when sending out bills and letters.

Check out Cralin's role in the wonderfully insightful movie "DOGMA" where Alanis Morrisette is God.

Poem for Jesika

Hey Yiz..... Not that I'm bitter, but I can tell you who else..... The Aunts who have spent the child's entire life with them. Then rescued them from their abusive, drug addicted and dealing, homeless mothers who didn't give a rats ass about them, just so long as they got their welfare check every month. That's who else can do that. Those who can't have children, but instead save the lives of the children of the asshole, deadbeat mothers who don't appreciate the gift that they were given.
blah.... sorry I'm a little worked up this morning
