Thanks Kate, this is exactly the place I was at. I've struggled for sometime with the feeling of not being good enough to be loved. To have that confirmed by my mother is what sent me over the edge. Well that, and my 2.1 blood alcohol level. ;)

I tried to kill myself over the weekend. Slit my wrists to watch the bath tub fill with blood. This was after a phone call with my mother telling me can't love me because I don't love Jehovah. I'm okay. I survived thankfully. I had teh presence of mind to call someone, and that person had teh presence of mind to take me seriously. The police and paramedics got to me in time. I certainly don't recommend this for anyone. It REALLY sucks. It doesnt punish anyone but yourself. I learned a valuable lesson: sometimes things just have to stay broken. I'm okay REALLY. I just wanted to say thank you for posting this info. DON'T do it. There is absolutely NOTHING to be accomplished by it. (yes I'm teh one who posted about it on another board)

as in my last thread, i stated that my sister went threw my house and found pictures of my children in their halloween costumes.

Brooke, you are a wonderful mother, you KNOW that. Even more so because your kids wont grow up with the guilt and warped view of life that the JW's teach. Bringing ones kids up and making judgements on teh parenting you do is the below the belt card they use with so many people. I was told I didn't love my child because I wouldn't teach him about Jehovah, and I wanted him to die at Armageddon. It sucks bad, it's mean and malicious. Forgive them, they know not what they do. All that matters is that you can look yourself and your children in teh face and know better. And know that when they become adults they will thank you for saving them from that perverse life.

Swalker, I absolutely agree with you. INTENT, especially intent to deceive.Or motive rather. Last thing I could be called is a JW appologist. BUT, besides a non-JW parent who was affected, I don't see this making much of an impact as implied before. If someone could provide me the proof that the JWs deceived their believers based on the misrepresentation of SECULAR info, I would kindly shut up. The verbage from a "blood card" is a great place to start. My appologies I no longer have mine, I burned it years ago. Please let me say I mean no disrespect to Barbara at all. I think she and her associates are GREAT people, pioneers in the true sense of the word. I just don't see this as a "toppling" announcement.
