My favorite part was when the girl was telling David that she was so attracted to him because he wasn't like other guys. Reason why he was diffferent? She said because he didn't swear. Yah!!!! that's a real quality girls are dying for in guys today. Meanwhile this same girl said that her own mother calls her a potty mouth because she swears so much! WHO WRITES THIS STUFF???

2009 Drama Synopsis and Comments
by jabberwock inthis year's drama was based on the parable of the prodigal son.
the theme was "your brother was dead and came to life".
as some have probably heard, it is a modern day story based on that parable, so there are no fancy costumes or fake beards.. .

When we were young my brothers and I used to divi up the paragraphs and then copy each others work....we'd be done in 10-15 min.
Did anyone ever catch the brother handling the mikes trying to sneak a peek at your WT to see if it was studied?I'm dying to write something obscene on it to see if they'd say something.

I wonder if this would work
by JWinprotest inmy wife and i were discussing yesterday the pros and cons of fading vs disfellowshipping.
my wife mentioned that it would be extremely difficult to fade because we live so close to everyone and with two small kids it would be difficult to avoid members of the cong or ignore them when they come to our door.
so i came up with an idea and i wanted to run it by you first to see if it has been thought of before and if you think it can work.. here it is.

Undercover, I think ultimately that will be the plan, I meant this as last resort if we get backed into a corner.
Do you have advise about what they can do to us as parents if my kids get spotted at school by other witness kids doing holiday things or perhaps even singing the national anthem?

Your plan does nothing to the Witnesses except feed their "persecution complex" and reinforce their belief that they are right after all. "Look at all the persecution we are enduring - just like Jesus said!"
My hope was that they just leave me alone to avoid going through this as well, I don't think I would care enough to actually go through with it.

Just for the record, the assembly comment was a joke.

You really think they have grounds to call the police. That's what my wife said as well. Ok so scatch off greeting everyone, maybe I just greet studies, and add going to assemblies, standing by the pool, and everytime someone gets dunked, start crying and say, "oh God, not another one!!Why!!!Why!!!!"

My wife and I were discussing yesterday the pros and cons of fading vs disfellowshipping. My wife mentioned that it would be extremely difficult to fade because we live so close to everyone and with two small kids it would be difficult to avoid members of the cong or ignore them when they come to our door. So I came up with an idea and I wanted to run it by you first to see if it has been thought of before and if you think it can work.
Here it is. We start our fade. If the situation ever arises that the elders threaten to disfellowship us, we tell them that if they do, we will attend every single meeting from now on, come 10 minutes early and greet evryone that comes in through the doors of the auditorium. Our family (with 2 kids under 5) will sit in the first row right in front of the speaker and we will not leave if they start causing ruckess. I will feed them snacks throughout the entire meeting, maybe even bring the booster for the young one and feed her lunch, and bring toys that are not so quiet(maybe even a toy smurf if I can find one). I put up my hand at every question, then everyone will have to explain to their studies why I am being ignored.
Then at the end of each meeting I will go to the literature counter and ask the attendant in a loud voice,"are there any magazines in my folder? (say name of attendant). What do you mean I don't have a folder?". Then grap a stack of the old magazines on top of the counter that are brought back by those that could not place them. Maybe grap the whole stack. On the way out, again, we wave to everyone and say loudly, "see you at the next meeting".
We also show up for field service groups and we follow a car group to the territory. We start knocking on doors before they get to them and we warn householders what to expect and what they would be getting themselves into should they accept anything from the 2 people that are coming up the street. Maybe knock on the doors of their return visits after they're done and undo all the damage. At the end of the month we turn in a field service report and create a new column called "Converts Annulled".
I now what you're thinking, it sounds like a lot of work. But something tells me they wouldn't allow it to happen, I think they would just allow us to ride into the sunset and leave us alone. Of course they would probably tell everyone that I should be avoided anyway, but I really don't care as long as we can continue talking with our family. Any thoughts??

I've noticed something different at this years district convention
by JWinprotest innot sure if this was the case elsewhere, but i noticed that the contribution boxes with the people attending them stayed out in the hall ways throughout the entire session.
they used to be set up only before and after sessions and during lunch......times are tough!

Those who are faithful enough to put money in them will not be milling around during the program; anyone that is milling around would not be putting money there.
Good point. And also, those that are faithful miss the opportunity of contributing and having other faithful ones seeing it.

What Were Some Stupid Rules In Your Hall?
by minimus infamilies with younger children had to sit in the last 3 rows or they were counseled!.
disfellowshipped persons were told not to sit next to each other and talk because it "looks like they're unrepentant"..

Speaking of garage sales, I know they were frowned upon in my cong. One time we were in field service and my wife and I saw a nice chair at a garage sale that we really wanted. So we bought it and put it in the truck of our car. The other 2 in our car group didn't want to get back in the car. They asked me to bring it back to my home and come back for them. I told them I didn't have time because we were done for the day and we had an appointment, they would have to make their own way home. Once they realized how far they were from their home they were able to put their fears aside and get in the car. They didn't talk much......I'll bet they were praying all the way home.

No difference between Jonestown massacre and WT teaching
by JWinprotest incan someone tell me what the difference is between jim jones convincing 900+ to kill themselves by injesting poison and the governing body convincing 7 million to die should they need blood to save their lives.
i don't get why government doesn't put them both in the same light..

I think another problem might be that the cause of death in some cases can be contested by the society. A doctor can only speculate whether or not a blood transfusion would actually save the person's life, and that opens the door for the WT legal department to swoop in for the kill......pardon the pun.
