Lol@ Outlaw's pic....hey Outlaw, what happened to your dub's tie?...shame, shame...
His picture may be funny, but unfortunately it is not far from the truth. This new light won't faze anyone.
i know a brother who went to the most recent annual meeting.
older brother, non-annointed, elder, wife a pioneer, and overall a pretty good dude.
he let me take a peak at the new awake dropping in 2013, which by the way i have to give credit where it's due as i like the new 16 page format.

some avatars and screen names are pretty self explanatory, but some...i can't figure out.
i just wanted to know why you chose your particular screen name and/or avatar.
mine is easy enough.
My wife and I both know the org is full of crap. I want to leave the org and I'm not worried about our family's reaction. My wife has asked if we can just play the fading game to keep the peace. So to this day, I remain a JW in protest.
i have been in touch with a canadian reporter for a major newspaper.
she is interested in covering the candace conti story but needs to make it relevant to canadians.
so, she has asked if there is a canadian victim of child abuse who would be willing to speak with her.
I was just lamenting to my wife as to why this case was getting no coverage here in Canada. The Toronto Star is a big stage and from there usually gets picked up by tv news stations. I don't understand why she has to have the testimony of a Canadian abuse victim to make it relevant to Canadians. These people are crawling around neighborhoods all over Canada every morning knocking on their doors....I'd say that's pretty f%$&ing relevant to Canadians!
just started watching 'friday night lights' .... great show, but it's making me a little bitter!
17 years after high school, i am still bummed i didn't get to play football or baseball.
i knew my elder dad would get busted from the others in the elders club.
No I did not. This is by far my biggest regret, and I am very bitter over it. I had one Principle actually come over to my house one night to try and convince my mom to let me play soccer, I thought for sure she would give in, but she held her ground. She even used the bible to show him why I wasn't playing. I wanted to crawl in a hole and die!
apparently, the society knows exactly when the great tribulation is going to break out, but they're only letting the public know through subliminal messages in their images.
here's a new chain letter that's being passed around between witnesses:.
(daniel 2:34, 35, 44, 45).
I could be wrong, but I believe a while ago I overheard my brother in law saying that one of the speakers at last summers district assembly made this very point, and he commented on how the audience started murmuring as if some major ground breaking news was revealed....morons!!
you might be a jehovah's witness if .
you know when nisan 14 is but you forget you own birthday.
you wash windows for a living but you own five suits.
You Might be a Jehovah's Witness if you constantly feel the urge to underline the main thoughts no matter what you're reading.
You miss the first 10 min of any sporting event trying to avoid the national anthem.
You're afraid to talk to worldly people of the opposite sex cause you think they will demand sex from you....the horror!!
You believe everything you're told.

whatever else you may think about jehovah's witnesses, what they think about their own "trained christian conscience" is an absolute.. the governing body feeds them what they should think and say and do; they obey.. conversely, what they must not think and say or do must be obeyed absolutely as well.
agreed?.
by internalizing these instructions, directions and taboos all jehovah's witnesses become tuned in to the collective authority of jehovah's "arrangement.".
I always found the conscience issue very strange, especially when there were consequences handed down by the org for following your conscience. For example, a few years ago, carrying a firearm was made mandatory where I work. So being the good JW that I was, I researched the WT publications to see what "god's" view on the matter was.
Well much to my surprise, as evil as the WT made it out to be, they conclude the article by saying that carrying a firearm as part of one's employement is a conscience matter. However, the article also says that if a brother who holds a high position of responsibility in the congregation decides to do it, his ability to carry out those priveleages should be reviewed by the elders of the congregation (we all know what that means).
But that's just one example, there are probably hundreds just like it. They say let your conscience guide you, listen to your conscience, but we all know that every JWs conscience is the GB.
chock full of jehovah's witnesses.
with the exception of my wife and my best man, they're all jws.
jws who probably despise me.
What a coincidence. Just this past weekend I was converting my wedding video from VHS to DVD, and unfortunately there is no short cut, you have to make the video play in its entirety to capture the video on your computer. So I ended up watching pretty much the whole thing, and I too had very mixed emotions about the whole ordeal. My wife and I are still very much happily married after 13 years, but it was sad to see all the people I was so close with, now out of my life.
The whole talk is taped, and it almost made me gag. I didn't realize then how little the talk was about my wife and I and how much of it was a witness to non jws.
I was also reminded of when the entire dancefloor of about 100 people cleared within 4 seconds when the DJ played YMCA, after being repeadedly told not to prior to the wedding day. I can laugh about it now......not so funny then.
i am picketing the assembly....i know many on here think that is nuts.
but at 84 i can do what i ruddy well like.12 noon i will stand with another bloke.
whos wife is a jw & it is destroying their marriage...the kitchener auditorium.
That's too bad. This weekend is the DC we were supposed to be at, but we've already decided not to go.
I would have loved to see you in person, and maybe sneak you a wink when no one was watching. But I just can't bring myself to sitting and listening to drivel for 8 hours and driving an hour and a half to do it, no offence Mouthy...lol!
Good luck with the protest, I hope you manage to plant many seeds.
