A little late, but just watched this movie for the first time. My mom mentioned it to me on the weekend in hopes that it may spark something....little does she know it just strengthens my resolve to stay the hell away from this cult. My funny moment from the movie was the home page of the porn site that had no naked women on it....lol...like any guy in his right mind would enter that site when looking for smut.

LOL...I thought so Pixel, thx for clarifying. I've been away so long that I am a bit out of touch as to what is going on in JW world. Wouldn't shock me though if it was the theme of a local needs talk though.
Yeah I thought their explanation of what a cell phone does was hilarious as well.
This thread reminds me of the time my cell phone went off while on stage as reader for the WT study. I thought I had shut it off before going up but I guess I didn't hold the power button down long enough, or maybe I held it too long, who knows.

Holy crap, I know they were always stingy when it came to paper towels at conventions, but I never thought they would tie bible principles to how many squares of toilet paper you should use when you take a dump at the Kingdom Hall....and to go as far as dedicating a KM question box to it. That seems like a bit much even for them. This has to be a joke!

by DATA-DOG inhas anyone else recieved the letter from the gb about international conventions in 2014?
according to the letter the missionarys/order of full time servants desperately need to get to the conventions in their homeland.
so to accomplish this, jehovah needs 15 cents per publisher, per congregation for some months ( sorry i can't remember the exact length of time ).

They should create an adopt a missionary program....for just a few cents a day you can make sure the missionary you sponsor will receive a hot meal each day and a first class ticket back home to attend the convention in their home town (or town of their choice). They could periodically send you photos of the missionary you are sponsoring and everything.

Well, I talked with two active JWs about the latest understanding of the F&DS.
by Theocratic Sedition ini know a brother who went to the most recent annual meeting.
older brother, non-annointed, elder, wife a pioneer, and overall a pretty good dude.
he let me take a peak at the new awake dropping in 2013, which by the way i have to give credit where it's due as i like the new 16 page format.

My wife and I both know the org is full of crap. I want to leave the org and I'm not worried about our family's reaction. My wife has asked if we can just play the fading game to keep the peace. So to this day, I remain a JW in protest.

Canadian Newspaper Willing to Cover Watchtower Child Abuse Issue

she is interested in covering the candace conti story but needs to make it relevant to canadians.
so, she has asked if there is a canadian victim of child abuse who would be willing to speak with her.

I was just lamenting to my wife as to why this case was getting no coverage here in Canada. The Toronto Star is a big stage and from there usually gets picked up by tv news stations. I don't understand why she has to have the testimony of a Canadian abuse victim to make it relevant to Canadians. These people are crawling around neighborhoods all over Canada every morning knocking on their doors....I'd say that's pretty f%$&ing relevant to Canadians!

17 years after high school, i am still bummed i didn't get to play football or baseball.
i knew my elder dad would get busted from the others in the elders club.

No I did not. This is by far my biggest regret, and I am very bitter over it. I had one Principle actually come over to my house one night to try and convince my mom to let me play soccer, I thought for sure she would give in, but she held her ground. She even used the bible to show him why I wasn't playing. I wanted to crawl in a hole and die!

I could be wrong, but I believe a while ago I overheard my brother in law saying that one of the speakers at last summers district assembly made this very point, and he commented on how the audience started murmuring as if some major ground breaking news was revealed....morons!!
