Unfortunately this story was aired Saturday night at the same time as hockey night in Canada, so I'm not sure it got the initial exposure I was hoping for. Hopefully it will make some noise online though.

I was counciled for putting in Pioneer hours and not officially "Pioneering"
by RubaDub ini didn't want to hijack the thread about people having to "wait" until the society approves their pioneer status.. i recall once an elder was shocked that i had done the 60 hours a couple of months but not officially on the pioneer list for the months.
i told him that i didn't need the title, that the purpose was to do the work, not get a title.. i then heard a long lecture about how that was not encouraging to others, etc, etc, etc.. he got rather annoyed when i asked him what the purpose of the preaching work is.
of course he said to spread the good news.

My mom put in aux poineer numbers every month for about a 2 year span, and received constant pressure from the elders and other pioneers to make it official. Again citing the "encouragement to the cong...blah, blah, blah...but I also saw one brother get flak for putting in over 100 hours one month he was aux pioneering. They implied he was showing off. He probably was because he was trying so hard to become an MS, but he should not have gone through that abuse.

A little late, but just watched this movie for the first time. My mom mentioned it to me on the weekend in hopes that it may spark something....little does she know it just strengthens my resolve to stay the hell away from this cult. My funny moment from the movie was the home page of the porn site that had no naked women on it....lol...like any guy in his right mind would enter that site when looking for smut.

LOL...I thought so Pixel, thx for clarifying. I've been away so long that I am a bit out of touch as to what is going on in JW world. Wouldn't shock me though if it was the theme of a local needs talk though.
Yeah I thought their explanation of what a cell phone does was hilarious as well.
This thread reminds me of the time my cell phone went off while on stage as reader for the WT study. I thought I had shut it off before going up but I guess I didn't hold the power button down long enough, or maybe I held it too long, who knows.

Holy crap, I know they were always stingy when it came to paper towels at conventions, but I never thought they would tie bible principles to how many squares of toilet paper you should use when you take a dump at the Kingdom Hall....and to go as far as dedicating a KM question box to it. That seems like a bit much even for them. This has to be a joke!

according to the letter the missionarys/order of full time servants desperately need to get to the conventions in their homeland.
so to accomplish this, jehovah needs 15 cents per publisher, per congregation for some months ( sorry i can't remember the exact length of time ).

They should create an adopt a missionary program....for just a few cents a day you can make sure the missionary you sponsor will receive a hot meal each day and a first class ticket back home to attend the convention in their home town (or town of their choice). They could periodically send you photos of the missionary you are sponsoring and everything.
