  When this book was released the first thing I noticed was the violence depicted on nearly every page, I couldn't understand how those old codgers in Brooklyn felt this was suitable material for children to dwell on.

  The orange 'Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained' book was used for family study when I was child & had drawn images of children, dogs & adults falling into gaping cracks in the road during Armageddon & buildings falling on them. Children soak up every detail of these images as their parents read the text to them.

  Well done B_Deserter your video sums up how I have felt about this book since it was published.

  I also like the sound track, can you let me know what it is?

  The Gradual Change From Worshiping Jehovah To The Worship Of the Governing Body

  i first began my misadventures with jehovah's witnesses in 1972 as a youth(18 years old) and was baptised in that same year.

  i was young inexperienced and they caught me at a low point when i was weak and looking for god to solve problems.

  being raised as a catholic and going to all the religious indoctrination up to the point of confirmation, i guess you could say i was indoctrinated from birth to believe a certain way which left me vulnerable to the jw propaganda.. fast foreword to the time of my departure in 2001 february.. for a couple of years (late 90s) before i left i started noticing out right lies in the wt publications about their history and the luster that these magazines used to have started to fade rapidly also around that time i really began to notice the gobs and gobs of praise they were bestowing on the organization and the representative members of the so called faithful & discrete slave(gb).

  I totally agree with you yadda about WTWizard's 'choice' & derogatory language.

  So often I want to print off threads like this one for my long time JW parents to read to help them see they are not the only ones to feel at odds with the present day WBTS & WTWizard's obscenities means I cannot do this.

  Can't he be asked to stop??

  I made it into the office today, however yesterday I listened to all the blah blah woe are we, never been soooo cold for 50 years, boo hoo news & stayed at home........to be honest I think the icey side roads this morning were more dangerous now the snow is compacted than driving through fresh snow.

  Continental Europe & the USA authorities know they will have feet of snow & deal with it efficiently. Britain doesn't cope well because extended cold snaps happen infrequently & councils cannot warrant spending a fortune on snow moving machinery that may not be used for years. Usually the Gulf Stream keeps Britain well above the temperature one would expect at this latitude.

  Thanks for your concern it is appreciated, however the news media here are just non-stop doomsdayers. Today is beautifully sunny, the few inches of snow we have had here in south west UK looks lovely & the kids are having loads of fun. For many younger children here in the south this will be the first snow they have experienced.

  we use to joke around and use the line from danny deveto on romancing the stone where he is asking michael dougless when he is coming back, soon very soon as a way to make fun of the believers who would keep telling us on stage the end was soon very soon.

  they started this after the 75 and 2000 failure.

  what are they saying now?.

  The years prior to 1975 saw many brothers & sisters, at the coaxing of the WBTS, sell their homes, give up their jobs & cash in their pensions to pioneer because the big A was so imminent you could smell it.

  Those brothers & sister are now spoken of as '75ers, going ahead of the society. I've even heard them called gullable by current witnesses.

  An aquaintance of mine in another cong' feels the end is so close that he is giving up his well paid job to pioneer because he genuinely feels the end is so close. Of course he became a JW long after 1975 & just cannot accept that the urgency he feels now is just the same as theirs was in the late 60's early 70's.

  it's a scan (you can thank iloowy for the scan) of the march 15, 2010 watchtower where there's a picture of a radiant sun of a wt logo along with a tm mark right next to a paragraph that says 'they "will shine as brightly as the sun"' (matthew 13:43).. .

  I remember a WT or Awake magazine where the WBTS made a real song & dance about the damage caused to a child when it realised their mom & pop had LIED about there being a Sant Claus!

  'MOTHER' must realise SURELY the damage it has done to generations of kids who grew up TOTALLY believing they will 'play wiv all de aminals & never grow old'.........

  and they never played with all the animals & they grew up & GREW OLD!

  Now that is the type of LIE that damages a child because it can so easily influence you put your life on hold waiting for the 'New World'

  Embarrassed myself by following WT dating advice

  i was a good little dubby.

  i tried to keep up with studying, only had jw friends, and always followed what the wt pubs said about how to date.

  if there was a brother that i was interested in, i'd ask if it would be okay to get to know him better.

  I know of two superfine JW's in my cong' (women) that put the pressure on two couples.

  The couples were in the initial delicate, easily embarrasing stages of 'getting to know each other' & the 'superfine' JW women told the ladies of the couples they should find out 'what the chaps intentions were' ie whether his intentions were to marry them or not.

  Naturally this snubbed out any spontaneity the couples had with each other & the relationships fizzled out.

  Trouble is the 'superfines' thought they had done the right thing!

  ok, so some witnesses try to explain why the animal creation is filled with pain and horror by claiming that satan made all the bad stuff.

  so, you have mosquitoes, parasites and bloodthirsty dinosaurs with satan as creator.. the trouble with this is that the bible sez that god made all things and deserves worship thereby (rev.

  putting satan in as a creator subcontractor means that he is owed worship by the same logic.

  I've never understood why the creator made Bot flies etc. but the main thing that bothers me about all 'GODS/gods' is their need to be WORSHIPPED.

  Why do they need to be told how GREAT they are all the time?
