Trebek was definitely hosting the episode I saw.

NWT - Accurately translated bible rumor
by Girlie inhas anyone on here heard of this rumor or even know if this is true?
supposedly, on an episode of jeopardy, one of the questions asked was which version of the bible was considered the most accurately translated from the original hebrew and greek text and the answer was the new world translation.
i tried looking this up online to no avail.

I think it was between 2002 and 2004
This was my mother's guestimation as well, but she's not sure. I couldn't even narrow it down that far.

If I knew there would be a pop quiz I would have studied! I cannot remember any other details. Just that none of the contestants got the question right. I wasn't a big Jeopardy fan. I just watched it when my mother had it on and I was in the room. She can't remember any details either. We don't remember how long ago it was. I can't even tell you that kind of detail about shows I really do like.

The question (or answer) may have been "The bible translation that Jason Beduhn decided was most accurate." That would not be biased on Jeopardy's part. I don't see why the WTS would want that covered up, unless they didn't want the witnesses to read Beduhn's book and see what he didn't like about the NWT. They've written before that they don't want the R&F trying to figure out how accurate their Bible is.
I'm not a conspiracy buff like cameo but I know what I saw, and I had a witness (no pun intended) with me. Are there other reasons a game show might selectively erase a past question?

Scarred, Cognac and her husband made a deal that they would study the Bible together, he without outside influence from the witnesses, she without coming to this site.

I agree that it seems very unlikely that the question aired. In that case I would genuinely like to know what the hell it was I saw.

PS, they phrased it in the usual question/answer format. The answer: the most accurate Bible translation. The question: what is the NWT? I agree that it is an opinion rather than a fact-based question and should never have been used. That may very well be why they abolished any record of it; they could get a lawsuit from contestants for a dumb-ass question like that. Nonetheless it did air on television. My mother was with me and we both clearly remember the episode. I didn't note the date or time of the show because it never occured to me that it would be necessary. I can't give that kind of detail about shows I cared a lot more about. I understand that my anecdotal experience needn't be taken as proof by anyone, but I hope it would at least open up the possibility.

Ranson
by bobld inillustration:my daughter is kidnapped.i pay the kidnappers the ransom price to bring about the release of my daughter.end of story, not so fast.you see the kidnappers injected a deadly drug which they can remotely activate and kill her any time they so desire.the ransom released her from the kidnappers but she is still under the control of the kidnappers.like wise the "so called ransom j.c. paid to release man" man is not.. if the ransom j.c. paid to release man from death, why is it that man still dies?oh,man is controlled by the so called drug injected by<><>(no free will).

Yeah, maybe one of the Christians can answer this question. I don't see what value the ransom has if the wages sin pays is death. It only seemed to make sense if there could be some people who never died. Although it still seemed cruel to pay the ransom thousands of years in advance and let people keep dying in all that time.

I look forward to seeing how this turns out. I would volunteer but I have neither the equipment nor the brain to film anything.

Is it too soon to miss Cognac? I wonder how it's going with her hubbie.
