  "It didn't make sense. Not the small amount (3%). That was irrelevent. It was the fact that I was agreeing to MAKE A SACRIFICE and that would certianly include my expenses, wouldn't it? Why wouldn't a sacrifice be a one hundred per cent sort of arrangment?

  Is THIS the best of all POSSIBLE worlds?

  is this the best of all possible worlds?.

  if it isn't, wouldn't that be the best possible proof that a benevolent and all-powerful deity had nothing to do with creating it?.

  if a loving and benevolent creator was going to create a world--why make one with a built-in self-destruct mechanism??.

  My male dog will mount a female in heat. He doesn't give much thought, he just does it. There is no law in our country against a male dog mounting a female dog, they are not responsible for what they do. But there is a law against a man mounting a woman against her will. Unlike the male dog he knows what he is doing and is held responsible.

  We are "designed" to know better. We are "designed" to be responsible for our actions. Our own laws recognize this.

  Outlaw,

  Ray Franz was on the GB. I believe he received his expenses paid just as everyone else. Do you really believe Terry's claim of big bucks in the Watchtower somehow going unaccounted for is being spent on expense accounts for the GB?

  There was a big deal here about a ring on the finger of a GB. Why don't we get some pics on their wives. Maybe there's some strings of pearls and designer clothes we can pick out.

  JWs do not go door to door with a "public face ...of shabbiness..." You overreach. The truth about the JWs is bad enough we don't have to resort to exaggeration!

  Of course they collect money through whatever legal avenue is available to them. Who doesn't?

  Did Ray Franz in COC claim the GB "do most anything billions of dollars will afford.."?

  Ray lived with the GB. He knew the whole story and he told it. I find it interesting when people who did not serve as close to the GB as Ray did go beyond what he wrote.

  Terry,

  On this board there have been many posts on the lack contributions in the Watchtower due to the dwindling numbers, so they say. Many posts on the GB's need for funds and so on. You post "where is the money?" Well, according to this site the "money" is not what it used to be. You can't have it both ways. You can't say their contributions are down and then turn around and ask where all their vast sums are.

  Where's the Rabbit? The "rabbit" friend is religion. If you believe there is some hidden use for the these vast sums then put the exJW community to work in finding it. Usually large amounts of money cause individuals in power to abuse it by living well. You have not yet asked former Bethelites here whether the GB lives in mansions. You haven't because you know they do not. Do they squirrel away vast sums and leave the Watchtower rich men? No.

  Is this the best of all possible worlds? Yes, given that mankind is a greedy animal that will rape his own children for the fun of it and kill his neighbor just to get his land. Why should God give such greedy animals more than he has given the other, less intelligent, animals of this world? We are all in the same boat, man and beast. No reason not to be.

  Terry,

  Many mainstream religions pass collection plates and tithe, Witnesses, though repeatedly encouraged to donate, are not required to. You avoided the question. Do the Governing Body members live in mansions? If they do then you're right of course and I will apologize. But if they don't then you're accusations are off the mark.

  Where is the money? It's in building projects and other expenses that come with running a large organization. But the GB itself is not living as many other leaders of mainstream religion do.

  What would you consider as evidence that JWs have "The Truth"?

  "what facts, evidence or otherwise would you consider as proof that jehovah's witnesses are not the true religion?".

  No one has truth. We all speak what we believe is true or have been told is true. That's applies to JWs and everyone else even exJWs.
